i would like to play my backups over the net, using my pc as a hdd essentially. i thought opl allowed this but i must be doing something wrong. cam somone give me totally dumbified directions on patching the game isos to work with opl, and how to set up opl to find the games over the network? idk if its necessary but i made the folder my backups are in a "network drive"
Please look for "User Guides" links at first post.
Yes, this is possible. Most OPL users use network (SMB) as the connection. Read this guide and learn: http://openps2loader.info/8/config_net.html - also put your pointer over the Network tab to see a drop down of more instructions.

Server Message Block - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Please read the guide I linked earlier... that's all you ever need to know how to do this. Good luck!![]()

i read it abt 10 times, getting a network error 300, confirmed network works by trying ddrx in network mode which successfully created connection settings and connected. but cant access my computer
i left share name blank to begin with, and im running windows 8. i set my router for virtual server and port triggering for the port opl is set to use.
You only mess with the router if you want to share your SMB PS2 games with people on the internet (lol).
Seriously you don't need to change anything on your router as the PS2 won't ever touch internet. All the PS2 need to know is the PC IP, the share name and if it's password locked, the said password.
Please undo whatever you did to your router. Also put the PS2 and PC on the SAME subnetwork (the first three numbers on their IP addresses should be identical).
