You'd be amazed at all the "security freaks" who forget to add their PS2's MAC address to their router's "safe list" ... ;)Quote:

this usually happened when i would forget to rebuild OPL without "make clean", but since i had a clean checkout this time - i found that strange.
reverting to previous OPL version (e.g. latest in ifcaro's repo) fixes the problem, and there are no special commits in OPL that would break things this way. weird.
yoshi314, hi mate. Can you share compiled 651 rev? I am suck in programming and can't compile it for myself. Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Ukraine.
I guys. Is it possible to compile a new USBD.IRX driver that can be USB 2.0 compatible ?
If we have a new USB 2.0 driver, we can play PS2 USB game with our PS3.
Well Id like to say im sorry abought the dirty mouth on my last post. I had a question. I wondered if a Version 7 PlayStation 2 was a bad one for using the hdd? I cant seem to get any but a small 4.3 gb to work
Like l_Oliveira said before a few posts back, try a different network adaptor. I don't remember who his post was directed too, but his advice stands.
If you want to save the money and the frustration of finding that a newer network adaptor doesn't work, just borrow one from someone else (Even from a stanger will do...).
If you can experiment with a different console too, that will be great too.
Honestly, there is no point in getting mad over this, as Sony never promised that their hardware would ever be compatible with generic ATA HDDs. (On the contrary, they forced everyone to use their "Genuine SCE" HDD units)
So while it does work with generic ATA disks, compatibility is obviously not guaranteed (Especially with the older hardware) and you cannot blame them.
EDIT: When was your adaptor manufactured? I know that the US release of Playstation hardware has got datecodes printed on them.
Mine was manufactured by Foxconn, China. Datecode is 3C (3rd quarter of 2003). That adaptor was brought back by the previous owner when he went to the US, many years ago.
I vaguely remember a similar case from 2 years ago, and I've found it: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f98/hdd-...adapter-65562/
