I'm just starting to get into the homebrew scene and I have a quick question as to how I should go about getting on the right track, I installed Shadow of The Colossus & Devil May Cry on my Flash Drive i've dedicated for game storage and app running. However my games will not show up on USB Mode when OpenPS2Loader is running ...

Is there a proper location where they have to be installed/placed? please help

Possible your usb flash drive isn't compatible. Although I can't tell since you gave virtually no information on what you are running.

For starters i'm attempting to run some games I ripped for OpenPS2Loader. I have a 8GB SanDisk Cruzer USB Drive that hopefuly will be the dedicated source for storage, all of my rips were properly ripped using USButil 2.0 but when I start the SMBOOT and OpenPS2Loader my list will not appear on screen under USB. Suggestions?

Im guessing your using a PS3, since you mentioned SMBOOT. My guess is that USB device is not compatible or you need to re-format it and get rid of any San Disk software that they normally put on their USB sticks.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

Do you have a modchip in your ps2? If so, see this post and please use the search function. If you don't have a modchip, then I don't really know what to tell you...

For some reason or another 0.5 white or pink screens everything I attempt to run on it, however if I boot up a game with 0.2b it will actually load up and make attempts to run (i.e. Tekken Tag Tournament (NTSC) will load up to the intro video and freeze once start is pressed to skip the video, Hokuto No Ken (NTSC/J) runs with no problem at all when booted up on 0.2b).

I've reinstalled them and reformated the Cruzer USB Drive more times then I can remember at this point. I even resorted to using my WD MyPassport 500GB External HDD as a desperation attempt, all of which had the same end result ... 0.5 will not load while I can actually gain some ground with 0.2b

The thought of going out and getting a PS2 because 0.5 won't properly work on my BC 60GB PS3 kinda makes me discouraged. ugh
