Hmmm... Could it be another solution for the same issue? You mean, we can solve this issue without compressing the original DVD9 to DVD5 via a RipKit? If so, please share the knowledge here, or on another thread (tools used, steps needed, and OPL compability modes used as well). Thanks in advance!

I could link the forum I read it in, but I want to run it by the mods first since it's a site that people use to tear apart, customize and put back together their copies of GH/RB.

God of war 2 NTSC DVD9 SCUS_974.81 OPL 0.7 USB freezes after the first fmv(before you even play) the solution is to enable the wide screen in the options, the video shutters badly but still watchable , the game itself plays perfectly fine except for the save points which worked fine after i enabled mode 1,3,4 and 6 in save point 4 (before you ride the flying horse) the 1st and the 2nd save points didn't work(freezes)that was before i enable the modes so i don't know if they'll work or not after.. then i stopped playing the game after the successful save in point 4, I'll load the game and see if it continue to work or not, I will let you know about what happens later

i have tried with exactly this method. and though yes the opening movie did not freeze with the widescreen option turned on. another test will be if the game freezes after defeating athena or not.

This title works well for me after getting a DVD5 image from the GH Metallica Ripkit.

Actually i'm downloading the rip kit to make tests, adn see if it works good enough... but definetely DVD9 version doesn't work good with OPL

Oh oh... i'm terrible sorry what i mean to say was that i'm downloading the rip kit for guitar hero metallica, then i will make a backup of my original game and then i will rip it to make some test with OPL

Formula One 06 - SCPS_151.17 - NTSC J - Sound issues. This game have a lot of problems and glitches with the sound in menus and in-game. The best result i obtained is with the MDMA 0 option which fix various of the problems, but the music still fails (slodowns, disappears a little, etc) in any of the options menu. The Mode 2 fixes the problems of the sound, but the game freezes when just load the circuit for playing. - OPL rev 420 - internal HDD

I tested also the japanese version of the game F1 06, and this have
exactly the same problems which have the PAL version.

The only difference is the japanese version needs also the
Mode 6 enabled, the IGR causes a freeze in this version.

The Game Works fine for me on OPL 0.7.....no sound problems.....no shuttering....and all these with no modes....

For me the first fmv works fine (except some stuttering of course) and all save points work fine too without any compatibility modes on.
But there are a few movies further in which freeze and make the game unplayable cause they are impossible to skip. The same with GoW1.

so how did it get on the list as working perfectly i wonder? thats all i'm saying... somebody should confirm that it works or it should be taken off the list because it obviously doesn't.

Majority of people just start a game, maybe play a little bit, and assume the game works perfectly. Usually if a game starts fine it plays fine till the end, but obviously there are some exceptions like in this case

When the list of games was compiled, it was explicitly said that FMV's WOULD be stuttery, God of War 1 and 2 were in the list as "working with FMV problems" because they were making sure people could play the game itself.

The games can't be finished when played from USB devices, that's the point, they freeze during few fmvs.
