It's what he said and i'm going on the evidence presented by own ps2.

I just installed OPL(not sure exactly what version I compiled last, around r525) on a friend of mine. We tried the SMB connection with Persona 4 PAL and everything works great, even at some places it loads faster then the DVD. The problem is when you go fishing. After you catch a fish the game freezes at black screen(probably the loading). Tried comp modes, but it I coudnt re-product it every time. It happens like 3 out of 5 fishing sequences. Anyone else experience the same problem?
I would suggest reinstalling the game or even trying out the .ul format as a white screen usually means it's a user error. You said earlier that you're using a USB pen drive, unless I'm severely mistaken you should never defrag flash memory and would never need to.

Valkyrie Profile 2 - SLUS_214.52 - NTSC-U - Working - If you're playing this for story don't use USB at least. Even if you can get past the stuttering in FMVs there's a lot of reading disc messages. - OPL 0.8 - USB
Maximo Ghosts to Glory - SLUS_200.17 - NTSC-U - Not Working - Gets to the Capcom logo then freezes - OPL 0.8 - USB
Okami - SLUS_211.15 - NTSC-U - Working - No change in performance since the last time it was reported - OPL 0.8 - USB
I'm not saying it's exactly the case here, but why would it be impossible ?

They could perfectly have programmed an IOP module to do such things...
Not impossible at least.
Does the game only work with an original disc in the drive? I ripped my RL2 WCE ages ago, and it's never worked on OPL, HDL, ESR or even a standard modchipped PS2. The only way I can play it is if I pull my modchipped slim out everytime I want to play it, which is annoying. I would put a disc in my HDD PS2, but the laser in the drive is shot, which is why it is a HDD PS2 in the first place.
You're right, but knowing Sony... they won't reveal such information to outsiders (Game developers in this case).

Oh well, if it was a module, it shouldn't be impossible to patch.
And I also said that none of them worked.I actually used MyDefrag which has a special option for flash drives and SSDs.It just refuses to work, even Neo doesn't work.Same result.I used USB ADV format and installed it with USBUtil 2.0.Some people said that it (almost) works, but they were probably using interial HDD or SMB.Sorry if I made any (grammar) mistake, but I am in a hurry.
