I have read the tut..... There is a little mistake.....
If you using x-over-cable, Check your IPīs.
When you give your PC an IP with 192.168.0.2, then your settings in OPL must show this.....
- PS2 –
IP: 192.168.0.10
MASK: 255.255.255.0
GW: 192.168.0.2 ----> and NOT 192.168.0.1 how the TUT shows......
- PC -
IP: 192.168.0.2
PORT: 445
SHARE NAME: PS2SMB
And check that your share-name has no free spaces. You write "PS2 SMB" rename it to "PS2SMB"
And dont forget.....
In the root of your share-folder you can only put games in .UL Format (USBUtil or USBExtreme - Format).
If you have isoīs you must rename the iso to OPL-format, make subfolders in your share-folder (CD - folder for CD-games, DVD - folder for DVD-games)

I'm not sure what you are referring to with your yellow colours and red crossings, but to me it sounds as if you have a firewall that blocks all PS2 traffic.
If so then you must either deactivate it or somehow convince it to accept the PS2 as a valid networking partner, allowed to transfer stuff to and from your PC.

he means icon in the task bar it means that PC doesn't detect your PS2 i had the same problem i solved it by connecting PS2 to a diffrent PC netwrok adapter since i have 2, 1 for NET, 2 for FTP PS3 i OPL PS2, and just like in your case the first adapter didn't detect PS2 conection but the second did
