My Games Aren't Showing Up In OPL v0.8
My Games Aren't Showing Up In OPL v0.8 –
05-08-2012,03:33 AM
Hello everyone! I'm new to this website so forgive me if this doesn't go to this section.
I have a PS2 Slim (SCPH-75001) and I have OPL v.0.8 copied to my memory card. I connected my PS2 to my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) with a CAT5e crossover cable.
I loaded OPL from my memory card and have the network setting config to this:
-PS2-
IP 192.168.1.10
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.2
-PC-
IP 192.168.1.2
Port 445
Share PS2SMB
User GUEST
Password <blank>
On my PC, I put in the following information in Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4):
IP Address 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway <blank>
I even shared my folder (PS2SMB) that has the PS2 games (in USB Extreme format) and gave permission to everyone and allowed "Read" only. I even changed the public sharing options to:
Turn on network discovery
Turn on file and printer sharing
Turn off Public folder sharing
Use 128-bit encryption
Turn off password protected sharing
I did all those things above and my games are still not showing up in OPL. What am I doing wrong? =(

Well for starters for VMC support you need wright privileges and at least for VMC folder is must have
and encryptions should be off for it
You did install USB Extreme to root of PS2SMB folder not another right?

Is how all good gaming systems came to be

Does your PS2 connect to your PC at all? Try changing your PC's Gateway to your PS2's IP address and see if that helps. I seem to remember having to do that when I used to use a crossover cable(but it's been a while).
So on your PC your settings would be;
IP Address 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.10

How did you name your .iso files ?

Do I create a VMC folder in the PS2SMB folder and right-click on the VMC folder to give everyone permission to "read/write"? And how do I turn off the encryptions for that folder? And by installing USB Extreme to root of PS2SMB, do you mean copy USBExtreme exe to the PS2SMB folder?

In the first post, I already said that my PS2 is connected to my PC (laptop) with a CAT5e crossover cable, I changed the default gateway on my computer to my PS2 IP address 192<dot>168<dot>1<dot>10 and it's still not showing my games on OPL,

I saved the games in the PS2SMB folder in USBExtreme format (ul), unless I was supposed to put the ISO files in that folder, Even if I did put the .iso files in that folder, it's still not showing my games, even though I named my Final Fantasy X International iso to "SLPS<underscore>250<dot>88<dot>FFXInt<dot>iso " (without quotation marks), What am I still doing wrong?
PS I removed all the periods to prevent it from thinking I was trying to post links, even though I wasn't

You need to create 2 folders on the root of your shared folder called DVD and CD. guess what they are for...

I am thinking your security is on highest and not allowing it to connect if everything is set the way that help shows it should work if no
problems with your hardware like either cables cross over cable router you get my meaning
