Is my Ethernet port dead?
Is my Ethernet port dead? –

Hey guys,
My slims laser is giving me problems so i decided to go ahead and use OPS2L. The last time i used my Ethernet port was approx 2 years ago sharing my media folders with SMS. I don't have a crossover cable so i plugged the ps2 to my dlink router and then another LAN cable to my laptop. And so i spent all day wracking my brains trying to figure out why OPS2L couldn't find my shared folder.
I tried using my laptop and on my Ubuntu desktop. It didn't work so i decided to try using the same cable as a crossover for the lulz. Adjusted the ips and still no luck. I then plugged in the LAN cable from the ps2 into my Ubuntu desktop and noticed that the LAN lights weren't blinking. when i connect the same cable directly to my laptop the lights blink and on the properties page it shows some activity when the ps2 searches for the shared folders. More received data than sent. and my router lights up when its connected to the ps2 too.
But i cant ping my ps2 either. whether connected like a crossover or through the router.i tried using ulaunchelf along with ps2 client loader,no luck. used different cables(all straight-through) Nada.
And ideas?
