    Hey there,
    I just tested your rev. 611 MOD using my router as the SMB server and it works flawlessly with both .iso and ul format files. Thank you so much for adding the ETH prefix code, from now on I can save over 790 watts of electricity per second on PS2 gaming as my router consumes less than 10 watts of power whilst the PC pulls some 800W... that's pure gaming goodness without the noise of a PC and of course a less hefty electricity bill

    Regarding VMC, it doesn't work on my setup with the rev. 611 MOD (as you already mentioned)...
    and no, I can't compile the latest revision as I don't have much Linux experience ATM would appreciate if you upload here.
    Thanks again dude, you (and every other scene dev.) rock.

    @HT3000

    Glad to hear it's work for you !

    Here is the revision 618, VMC should work in this one.

    @RandQalan, yoshi314

    I can't reproduce your bug, but I guess it is a lot dependent of the game list size. But I have an idea of why it is failing.

    So could you try the revision R618 of report back ? For the test, disable again the auto-refresh please, and don't hit "select" of course !

    i think i can explain, although i haven't tried anything higher than r590, simply because the new features are useless to me, and don't wanna lose time creating individual configs for each one of my games, which aren't few... oh well. as long as i can understand, OPL now can load configs off hdd instead of MC. if there was no config in MC, older builds wouldn't even start the HDD because it was disabled by default. the autorefresh starts the HDD automatically even if there's no config file on the MC, so it can load the cfgs in the +OPL partition.

    AMIRITE???

    i think only per-game settings are saved on hdd, so you still need to see the game list to make any use of them. the main config still resides on memcard. so i don't think this arguments holds up.

    edit: rebuilt latest rev on my craptop and it works correctly now. needs testing by somone with smb/usb, though.

    The whole config files can be stored on the HDD, but that is another story (= alternate device mode, for this mode you should not have a MC inserted at first start).

    So you're right Yoshi134, it isn't related, and yes again, it dosn't meant anything to "auto-refresh" (or even refresh) for the HDD mode. You can see this in hddsupport->hddNeedsUpdate, it always returns 0 (unless there is a rename or delete operation in progress).

    Refresh/auto-refresh is for all device but in fact only applied to SMB/USB.

    Thanks man,
    I tested the R618 you supplied and VMC isn't working still, unlike the R611 MOD which resulted in a black screen with VMC enabled the R618 loads the game just fine but fails to save any data to the VMC...
    The game I tested the VMC feature with is Resident Evil 4 (NTSC-U version) and the error it returns is "Save Failed". The game saves data to physical MC just fine.
    Any suggestions?

    I didn't test VMC feature with any newer OPL rev-beta, but as far I know RE4 doesn't work with VMC, at least with oficial OPL 0.8. Have you tried with another game?

    some games just do not work with vmc.

    i know for sure that mgs3 failes to cooperate with vmc, and a couple of games have issues with >=32mb vmc's.

    btw, since there is an option to have share browser in OPL, how about the ability to define multiple smb share "profiles" you can easily switch between them, without having to go to network settings every time? i assume some people might want to make one smb share with games for kids, and other with other games, for instance.

    @HT3000

    I also heard RE4 doesn't work with VMC

    @yoshi314

    1. We don't have any free button anymore.
    2. We don't have any space left anymore to display a new hint
    3. hints & buttons are to be implemented by all backend device.

    Main problem is the 3. I don't want to add a feature only for ETH, and currently hints are added by some common code, which is the same for all devices.

    Then, adding a new button, would require to trap it in the main loop, and this is common too for all device, so USB/HDD would be polluted by this feature.

    Conclusion, to do it right, I would have to change a lot of thing to follow my coding rules which I try to keep very strict. I like nice code, and that wouldn't be nice, just some ugly "patch".

    Maybe one day I'll change the management of hints and input button, to be tied with the current menu/item being displayed, but that may not happen at all ...
