and that made the gummi ship parts playable xD
Can you please explain to me how to go about doing this. I wanted to do another run through of this game but my optical drive is dead so I can't use the disc swap to get past the gummi ship missions.

your going to need to be able to compile your own OPL (if you dont there are guides)

get the latest revision of OPL by:
hg clone website (dont have privileges to post links)

    the file that i'm editing is in Open PS2 Loader / ee_core / src / patches.c

line 49 in patches.c should be the KH2FM line, change 0x00100000 to 0x00149210

    after re-compile the OPL

I searched the forums and google for how to edit elf files and came up with nothing. Sorry, I'm a real noob. Can you please tell me what tools you used to edit( or even browse through) Open PS2 Loader.

I downloaded the repository using Tortoisehg and was able to edit the patches.c file. However, I'm running windows xp and seems that I can't compile it without having some form of linux. So this is as far as I'm getting until I have some form of a linux computer at my disposal( I have read tutorials were I can download virtual machines to emulate linux, but my internet is too slow for those files, and I'm running really old hardware so I don't think that it would be able to emulate at full speed). So thanks for your help.

I don't suppose that you could upload your compiled version of Open PS2 Loader and pm me a download link.

Not necessarily - dlanor uses CYGWIN if I recall to compile OPL on his Windows machine. I almost went that route myself, but I didn't know how much free space it would take nor how complex it is to get the entire environment compiled and ready for prime time. Hence why Loki's VMWare of Ubuntu won me over -- all that was taken care of. I started downloading his VM before bed one night and it was finished by morning.

So this is as far as I'm getting until I have some form of a linux computer at my disposal( I have read tutorials were I can download virtual machines to emulate linux, but my internet is too slow for those files, and I'm running really old hardware so I don't think that it would be able to emulate at full speed).
My hardware's Social Security Number is "1" and its birth certificate is in hieroglyphics! Old school single core Athlon 64 3200+ socket 939, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP SP3. Got it for free to replace my nForce2 system which was even longer in the tooth but still rock solid. Running Loki's VM does stress my system somewhat but not too bad even though I had to scale back the RAM usage to 512MB to maintain stability and responsiveness to both OSes running in tandem. Setting the RAM to 256MB improved overall stability but made the VM more sluggish. Sure could use an extra gig of RAM. I've got 2GB of DDR2 and DDR3 floating around here - just lack the more recent hardware!

Even on slow broadband connections, downloading a VM environment isn't too bad -- especially with a download manager ...

I hardly ever used them before, but with cloud computing becoming more mainstream, jDownloader is rapidly becoming something I can't live without ...

my vm doesn't need that much of ram or a fast pc. you can edit the file with mcedit or set up shared folders and build from there.

if i remember correcly i had it work properly when i gave it 128MB of memory (OPL compilation crashes when i gave it 64mb) . OPL is written in C and that doesn't stress the cpu too much.

as far as download size goes - my vm is under 100mb.

sorry for shameless plug, just wanted to clear out some of your doubts.
