I was just wondering if the HDL Server works as well as the other PS2 HDD server apps and does it work with the other computer applications other then dumb?

In other words is the compatibility as high or is it even better to use then the other PS2 apps?

*EDIT* er sorry I meant DOES the HDL Server work as well as HDL_svr or other servers?
I have a head ache so don't mind the spelling errors please

    What do you mean?

I can mind 3 servers, which you could mean.

    1. HDL-Dump-Server (the original app and all other servers are based on this one)
    2. OPLs integrated HDL-Dump-Server (based on the first server)
    3. HDAdvance 3.0s server (I never worked with it, but I assume it is either HDL-Dump, or PS2-Link and still both are based on Homebrew then... I guess, it is the HDL-Dump-Server...)

So equally which server you choose:
-all should be compatible to each other
-all PC-Apps (all those various dump-GUIs and whatsoever is written for HDL-Dump) should be compatible to each of those servers
    PS2 V7/DMS3 V2 (FW:2.4b7); Seagate Baracuda 200GB
    PS2 V7/CC1.0 (FW:34 hacked v2 BM:2.1.6); Maxtor DiamondMAX9 PLUS 160GB
    PS2 SCPH-30004R; NoMod+NoLaser

    3xSony BBA
    3xSony MC 8MB
    MAX/Datel 16MB with Boot-CD
    MAX/Datel 32MB&64MB

    Custom FMCB 1.8b+ Beta-Build, my AIO 0.5, Sony&xRhino-Linux

Yeah thats what I meant, basically does the server included with OPL work as well as the other ps2 apps with the PS2 and PC? Thanks now I don't have to restart the ps2 and run a completely different app to upload ps2 games.

    Sorry if I confused you.

Yes, the HDL-Dump-Tools for PC all should be compatible to OPL (just make sure, the PC-Side Client-App 'HDLDump' is a compatible version).

HDLDump-Helper GUI is one of the latest GUIs written in JAVA, so it is even Multi-Platform-Compatible (or atleast to Windows and Linux).

I just used HD dumb to install both FFX International and FF7 DOC but after going back to the ps2 after leaving it idle for a while it wouldn't let me exit the HDL server unless I held down O and then held down X as well but after that the ps2 froze while OPL was updating. I dunno if the games messed up(highly doubt it) but it did freeze which worries me.

I dunno if this was because I left it idle or not. I'm using OPL 0.8

This crash exiting HDLD server in OPL is due to an exception, that's what I get in a recent debug session.
This is happening when trying to reset IOP (needed as hdld server module consume huge amount of IOP ram, and thus must be loaded in a specific module environment).
Fortunately, this happens when your trying to exit hdld server, so the games are already installed at that point.

Thanks for the reply and for clearing that up, I'm glad it doesn't touch the games. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
