Now your up to latest :)
The last test I did with Jak3 was somewhere at v0.746, and it worked.... but that was really quite some time ago. D:
flahrgenstow had (not too long ago) reported that Jak 3 doesn't work with PS2ESDL anymore, but I don't have the resources at the moment to find out what's wrong.
About the performance issue with PS2DCDMP: You might want to enable write caching for your disk, in Windows, with the device manager.
But remember to eject/unmount your disk properly first before unplugging it! Or you will most probably end up getting a corrupted filesystem.
Same here, its a bit confusing.
I'm pretty sure, that I got the game (EU Version) already to run with OPL from internal HDD,but with the OPL 0. 8 rev. 590, no way.
With HDL 08c it works, without any compatibility mode.
So I will try it next with the last stable rev. of 0. 8, or one of the latest 0. 7 rev. ,because that were the ones, I think, I played it already with.
Question: Is the US lobby server still online???Tested tonight the european and australian server and both weren't found, terminated it after a long time searching.
I think that Jak 3 works with PS2ESDL v0.821 on my SCPH-10000 console, since there is heavy HDD activity and it doesn't seem to ever end.
The logging messages keep on coming too, so the game couldn't have frozen up.
I don't have a screen to connect my console to right now, so my only source of debugging is via TTY over LAN. :(
What consoles do you guys have anyway? I have this feeling that this problem is another console-dependent problem again.
EDIT: It works on my SCPH-77006 console for real.
The only problem is that it can freeze while playing videos. But that problem is an old issue.
Just in case it helps, the CRC32 checksum of my game installation is 0xa13baf4e. The game is the USA release, and it's ID is: SCUS-97330.
I had a hard time with that game also... The only way I could get it to boot was to patch it. First of all it was a PAL version of the game, so I patched it with ADR patcher to NTSC. Then I patched the y position to Y48 with y - Fix...Thought that would work fine but would not work with any of the Loaders. So I had to apply a ppf patch with ppf o - matic... This is what finally did the trick for me...although I can ONLY boot it through HD Loader v.0"C". None of the OPL's would boot it. I was running free mcboot 1.8b on a 5001 fat 200gb WD IDE internal.. Also just like spud42 said...just use a cheap ass usb to ide enclosure to install via winhiip instead of risking zapping your mb everytime you want to install some iso's, you can pick them up for under 20 bucks...well worth the price plus you can use it as a usb hd when your not loading games with it..Anyway just use winhiip with extended compatibility mode checked yes and 48 bit checked yes and what I said above and the game should boot. One other thing though is that HD Loader C won't work with HD's larger than 200gb atleast for me it won't so save yourself some headache and throw a smaller one in just for testing..My 500 gb WD won't even load up on the gui with HDL C.
well, i can confirm what sp193 says, the cutscenes freeze... in opl. yes, that's right.
