So I want to play final fantasy x using openps2loader, but the problem is that my flashdrive wont accept files greater than 4 gb. I've checked the manual and it told me use opl2iso or iso2opl, something like that, but i really dont understand the manual. can a pro guide me on how to transer my ffx iso to my flashdrive so thats it playable with openps2loader? help will really appreciated, thx

I was under the impression if you wanted to use 4GB+ sized files you need to use exFAT or NTFS as that's FAT32's size limit?

mate it cant be done. 4Gb is the absolute limit in file size on a FAT32 formatted HDD.
other users have suggested 2 tools that will load it to your HDD , BUT it will be in 1GB pieces. these pieces MUST be consecutive . if you have added and removed iso/games then you MUST defrag the HDD before and for good measure AFTER you use usbutil to install a game.

there is another method that might work which requires you to remove any "padding"in the ISO. i have never done this but there are tools around if you search. this can result in an ISO that is less than 4Gb and can therefore be installed to FAT32.

Hi all, I'm new to the forums (as you can see this is my first post) but I've been searching and searching many forums and guides for a solution to the issue Tabizzle's having. I got a PS2 with a broken lens surprise surprise >.> and I've wanted to play some Final Fantasy X on it for a while now. Luckily I managed to make a soft-mod memory card that loads Free MCBoot on start up and from there I nagivate to the openps2loader elf I saved on the same mem card.

Now I've heard so much stuff about using usbutil to install the iso of the game onto a fat 32 formatted flash drive but even after I do that openps2loader can't recognize the broken 1GB chunks of the game. When I go to the screen in openps2loader that lists games on my usb flash drive, its empty.

Btw the name of the chunks for my Final Fantasy X game are formatted like this but with periods instead of commas (the forum thinks this is a link apparently...)
ul,9242396E,SLUS_203,12,00 where the "00" for each chunk it's a consecutive number so ,00 ,01 ,02 ,03 and ,04 for all 5 chunks. There's also the ul,cfg file in there as well. All of this is in the DVD folder of my flash drive (the DVD folder being in the root of the drive of course) Also these chunks are not recognized by windows to be an .iso file since they end in those numbers (which I guess makes sense). I defragmented my flash drive before and after using usbutil to move the original .iso to the flash drive.

If more information is needed I can list all the steps I've taken in detail with screenshots and junk but I just didn't feel like making a wall-o-text at the moment. :P
