Open uLE, go with the filebrowser to whereever the vmc is. With the "cursor" on the vmc file press R1 and from the menu choose "mount vmc0". You will be droped in the folder where the vmc is mounted. You can edit it just like a normal MC. Use the triangle button to go to higher directory. Exiting the browser by pressing "select" the vmc will be unmounted. If the vmc is on a SMB share, you will need to copy it to a USB flash drive and edit it on the PS2.

There's also mymc, which is a handy pair of CLI and GUI tools that allow you to manage (import/export saves) VMC images. There's only one issue I've run into - it throws an exception if I try to use it with an image dumped from a PMC with FMCB installed (unless there's just some massive shit going on with my PMC - I haven't tested backing it up then wiping it and doing a fresh FMCB install). Much more handy when using OPL over SMB, as you don't need to muck with copying the images onto a USB stick for mounting in uLE, nor copying them back when done (this is admittedly moot if you use OPL in USB mode and store your VMCs there). Plus, this tool has a much nicer interface (for the purpose of managing VMC images) compared to uLE.

It supports importing .max, .psu, .sps, .xps, and .cbs saves, and can export .max and .psu saves.

Thank you for asking about this. I also was thinking of doing this. Like to move my saves from my MC to the VMC for the game.

To search with it using uLE, my guess you can only do that through the USB VMC and not SMB? Anyone?

Like I said in the uLE-Thread: uLE currently doesn't support I/O on SMB.
It only can establish and test a connection currently.

Hopefully dlanor get some time to get SMB-I/O working, since that would make a lot of stuff more convenient (especially, if you use a NAS).

Firstly, thanks for share this information!

But can you import save games by using MyMC? I can't do this, always I got an error message in MyMc log file:

    Code:

I've tried with 'psu' and 'cbs' formats, with the same error. Am I missing something? Do you have any idea or sugestion in order to solve this error??

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll in the root of the mymc folder?
