Help with open ps2 loader network games
Help with open ps2 loader network games –
01-30-2010,01:18 AM
I have been searching all over the place for a fix to this and i've gotten some of it right, but i just don't know what i'm missing and how to fix it and i need help putting everything together to make it work.
hard/software used during whole time:
iOmega Prestige USB External Hard Drive 1TB
Slim PS2 - SCPH-900001
Swap Magic 3.8 plus
4gb flash drive (FAT)
--
I boot open ps2 loader using swapmagic's SMBOOTx.elf protocol as fmcb will not work with my ps2
I have partitioned my 1tb usb hard drive for use with my ps2 backups
I use usbadvance gui to make the games compatible to load with open ps2 loader
network connection as follows:
1 wired/less router-1 desktop pc, 1 wireless laptop, 1 ps2/xbox 360 (switch between use)
--
Network Config on open ps2 loader:
- PS2 -
IP 192.168.1.90
MASK 255.255.255.0
GW 192.168.1.254
-------------
- PC -
IP 192.168.1.95
PORT 450
SHARE NAME PS2SMB
network start up off
__
I have created a ps2smb folder and shared it on the network
and.. i'm pretty much lost as of right here i don't know what to do next
if i left anything else important out please let me know
EDIT: One other thing that's really been bothering me is that my ps2 is not showing up on my list of devices on my router (typed in 192.168.1.254 and it shows my computers and xbox) could this be the problem?

Check USButil instead, to be sure your ul.cfg/games are correct.

I guess, and hope, that the "PORT 450" is a typo, and you have the port set to 445 instead (which is the standard port used by samba) ?

The name of the folder on your computer harddrive is not important, whereas the name of the SHARE is. So check your share is named "PS2SMB", and also check the rights to access it. To help you here the official guide:

I don't think so, my PS2 doesn't show either in my router status page. Try to ping it (when you started the network), that must work.
Good luck.

You can specify any port you want, as it is an option to do so in the event port 445 is in use by something else. But the important thing to do is to be sure your specified port is also freely available.
Some times its overlooked that a port is 'in use' even though you dont see it listed as a specific port.
Some programs will allow you to set a range of ports, like 150 to 500 or 1457 to 1460 as an example. So all the ports in between those xxx to xxx are considered as 'used'.

What happens when the OPL app tries to make the connection, you didnt say what is happening, so we can only guess if you tried to connect or not.
PS2 Consoles:
SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
