Help me install HDD on Sony PlayStation 2 Slim NTSC-J SCPH-70xxx –
Hi I'm just new here and new in ps2 HDD installation, i bought a 2nd Sony PlayStation 2 Slim NTSC-J SCPH-70xxx and i wanted to install hdd. Can someone tell me the accurate procedure, step by step. Sorry for the bad english. Thank you very much!
first read about Installing FMCB there are many ways to install .just install the FMCB then we can do more business OK ?
Free McBoot Home
It depends how you want to connect your HDD, either use a USB drive on the USB port, then install FMCB as suggested, then OPL or ESDL or if you want a SATA/IDE drive then you'll have to solder something like HDD Combo (Google it you'll find tutorial for the soldering).
In any case the first step will be to install FMCB.
Not necessary! In fact it really easy to install HDD without freemcboot. Look here is video where im showing very simple task how to connect any IDE HDD to PS2 without modchips, memory cards, DVD or CD disks. Only HDD and PC.
and btw how did you lunch uLE (uLaunchELF) thats not quite possible in anyway to run uLE just using HDD and PC .please provide more info about the steps and also the Video .
I would be interested too if you caan provide more informations. Thanks.
Ok I can write simple tut - maybe today maybe a little bit later.
He got a slim PS2, so hooking a HDD is no going to be as simple as plug in the ethernet adapter of the phat ps2.
Otherwise on a phat PS2 with the adaptater and an original disc of HDAdvance you can launch whatever, for the slim you could get USBExtreme that is the same thing as HDAdvance but for USB (works on the phat PS2 too).
Note: You'll need the original disc for those 2 programs to launch them on an unmodded PS2.
