I don't know who is responsible for smap drivers, but I thing I've found where the error is when starting network in PS3. I've looked the codes and I've seen that every progress count which is shown at starting network, means something. As far as I see, if the progress count is 4, there is nothing loaded. If the progress count is 3, it means that ps2dev9_irx is loaded. If the count is 2, it means that ps2ip_irx is loaded. If the count is 1, then ps2smap_irx is loaded. Finally if the count is 0 then smbman_irx is loaded. But on mine, I haven't seen ever "1" progress. That means, the ps2smap.irx can't load on PS3. So, the network loading error is not belongs with smb on mine. Because smbman is not loaded yet. The error is belongs with smap driver.
I know that every usbd.irx is not working on PS3. So, Ifcaro uses usbd.irx of the launchElf 3.41. So, I want to ask to the developers or anyone to resolve this issue. Is there any working smap driver for PS3?
I'm afraid, I'm going to deep in to smap driver  . I'm a pc programmer, I have no experience on ps2 programming :chinscrat
Any help'll be appreciated.
I´m quite interested in the smap-driver and how it could get better (+ compatible to PS3).
I have also a PS3 60 GB PAL with PS2 Software emulation. I had the same problem like oruchreis and the Network is loading only to count 2 and says "Network Startup Error"
How uses also a PS3 with a working SMB?
on usbloader network settings where it says pc ip do i put this one http://www.ip-adress.com/ or my router ip which is 10.0.0.3 i turen simple sharing on and enabled smb but still frezzes
That link shows your ISP's IP assigned to you to go online, but that is not your computer's IP.
Your router has a different IP than your PC has, in fact it is what assigns your PC an IP if you did not configure it yourself as static in your PC's configurations.
To find what your IP of your PC is, just goto the start button >run>type CMD and press enter on your keyboard. Then at the command prompt just type ipconfig and again press the enter key.
A list will display showing your PC's IP.
If you have a network icon in your systray, right-click on it and select 'status', then click the 'support' tab in the window that opens. This will display your network configurations too.
thanks got it working this is a great feature on usb loader
I' have the same problem like Dussel and oruchreis.
Is there any solution to fix the problem?
SMB is currently not available for the PS3, only USB .
