    The "Combo button trick to return to ULE in all game loaded with HD Project. ( if "Free OSDatel" is use to boot the ps2 )" is the most exciting for the pre Ver 9 consoles. No longer will you have to get up to reset the console to change games on the HDD. (That's if I understand this feature correctly ) This is one of the cool things I love about a modded Xbox. Thanks Polo35!

    He probably means simply calling exit() at some combo. This would in any other case return to browser.... but with this one it will boot the "vast" again (unless he means launching osd again).

    @polo,

    Are you using rpcs to get the button status from iop side (to be true, in most common solution it's done the exact oppisite way... from iop to specified area on ee, then just read from this area from time to time)... or are you using game's memory area that the status is stored in (similar as in joker cheatcodes)?

    I'm asking, because I recently developed application to make screenshots on ps2 (real screenshots from vram, written to *.tgas) and to improve compatibility I had to use the second way (with the first only like an option). I even added the possibility to not make it keep alive only by hooking syscalls and int handlers but also by hooking to some place in game's code (of user choice... just like in master codes in cheats). Heck, to be true... doing just few additional changes would make this app fully working cheat engine . And it's only side effect of work on my other project (I had some problems with vram access in some circumstances, so that's why I had to spend a little bit more time on this).

    To be honest, it's just an idea for the moment.

    I made some test inserting a thread in poweroff module, with some good results, but without using pad, just reset button for the moment.

    So, if you have some code which can do the job, please post it.

    wassup dudes!!! one question... I have a ps2 slim silver NTSC with a matrix infinity chip, and I used ULE to load the Hd_Gui, and the Memory card emulator and when it told me to change disc,I put the game disc and it said: wrong image file.Then I saw that it could be that ps2 didin't read the disc because the lid opened for the disc change,so I opened the play and covered the sensors with scotch tape so that the ps2 didint find out that the lid was opened in the disc change.
    Then I used ULE to load the Hd_Gui, and the Memory card emulator and when it told me to change disc,I put the game disc and it said: Image file found and it worked perfectly but only with PAL games.
    When i put a NTSC game, the Memory card emulator it reads the disc but it starts to load the sreen goes black.
    I would like to know if there is a way to fix it????

    Hey.

    I'm not really dead as you can see.


    I'm back here after a long working summer out of home, and i'm working on rewriting part of the program to improve compatibility.


    I've add some modification proposed by ffgriever to improve saving/loading speed from/to vmc.


    I've also rewrite hdd modules to 'compress' them to acceptable size. I hope that can improve sensibily game compatibility.


    Most important i finaly learn 'iop update' trick thanks to ffgriever.
    I really want to use this trick in my loader to improve game compatibility, and to stop using 'fakeboot' module which use some iop space for nothing.


    Finaly, i let 'combo button trick' to wish list for the moment, but ffgriever show us that possible, so why not some day if he help me again. ( and again, and again, ... )


    I'm currently preparing a new release, with those change. Hope that can be ready in a week or two.
