Has anyone tried a NAS/LAN HDD enclosure with Open USB Loader?
Does it work? What about the speed? Are videos playing full speed with one of these?:

This is very similar to my Coolmax CN-350. And I have not been able to get it to work. Could you take a screenshot of the web based config and block out any vital info like your workgroup name, netbios name. the only thing I need to see is the layout of the screen and the firmware version. I'll upload mine soon so you can make a comparision. If yours is what I think it is, and uses similar software to mine, I would say it doens't work. but it needs to be compared first.
I can't get mine to work either. If it looks like the following interface (runs under Busybox), you can mount with Windows PC and investigate the /etc/smb.conf (and other) settings by creating a mount on the NAS (I suggest Read-Only unlike this linked screenshot) /mnt/../..

deba5er - yours isn't too far from mine, but it is different since yours has UPnP invovled. mine is a simple one here are all my config screens for it.
@ edea86 - note the firmware version. if yours is like mine, then there will be little chance it works. But currently, I'm working with jimmi to see if we can find a work around so people can have an easy way to get these units working without having the need for a computer. :D

@Bootlegninja
I am sorry, I don't have one. I just wanted to know if that worked in order to buy one. That one (or similar) seemed to me pretty ideal (same size as any other 3.5 HDD external enclosure and has also an USB connection).
Videos speed could be the problem, that's why I asked about the speed.
It would definitely be the perfect solution for PS2 Slim consoles.
So far I've just tried one game using a WIFI router (and it was a bit slow, then froze...)
About your unit: when you connect it to your PC using the net cable, I guess you can see the shared folder containing the games. If the PC can, why not the PS2?
I know your screens will not be identical to mine. I was looking for the firmware string. I need to know if its similar to mine. Personally, I've flashed this NAS I have with 3 brand's firmware and had zero issues on function.
Just to add, I've done some testing for jimmi and it seems there could possibly a simple fix in the works to correct the issue of Open PS2 Loader not working with these small embedded NAS units.
I hope it works out. PS2-Linux already works on my NAS. If I could get Open PS2 Loader and SMS to work, it would make portable all of my PS2 needs.Quote:

Well, with the newest core revisions, my embedded NAS unit is working like a champ. And ones similiar to mine that use the same firmware string should also be compatible as well.
jimmi's NAS guide has been added to the Official Networking guide page too.
