Games at SMB & VMC at USB working together, is it possible?

Hi! I'm loading my PS2 games from SMB with OPL. The games are stored in a NAS "Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition", and it works fine but I'm not able to configure it to read & write with OPL, so I can't save VMC via SMB. I wonder if is there a way to load games from SMB and save them to a VMC located in the USB stick instead of SMB. It could be handy for me to have all my saves in the USB stick because I usually load games from it too, and because I've to plug the USB to load OPL (swapmagic+usb) as my PS2 don't support FMCB and my MC is only 8MB and I don't want to waste space.

If it isn't possible, I'd like to fix that issue between NAS and OPL. I can mount the shared folders of my NAS into my computers via SMB and read/write files in them, but it doesn't work with OPL and it only can read files from NAS. Any ideas about what could be happening?

no, you can't vmc load from the same device the game was launched from. if you load the game through usb you will have the vmc in usb, and so on...
