Flashing purple border on Burnout 3 loading screen

Hello, I wonder if someone can help me with this issue. I am trying to run to Burnout 3 NTSC on OPL. When it reaches the loading the screen I see purple flashing border (going on and off). After that, I get a blank screen. Other games work, so I know it is a game issue on my side. I tried both OPL8 and 9.1. Same result. Could anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks a lot.

Edit: I have used the patches with USBUtils too, same result. I defragmented the USB drive and the software did not complain about it (I have the option on). I have used a USB drive only.

Edit 2: I have seen on another thread that this game does not require modes. Though, I suspected it has something to do with it. So, I enabled them all and the game worked.
