First of all, I have to say this is a nice piece of software. It's amazing the uses you can give to "old" hardware like the PS2.

But well, I have a problem. It isn't a problem with OPL per se, but this is the only place I suppose I could get a solution from.
The thing is, Windows starts ignoring OPL after one or two minutes of idle connection. I've spent hours trying to figure out what's happening here, and I got this:

    what.jpg

It happens with both OPL 0.8 and 0.9. But as I said, it's not a problem with OPL. It's Windows that kicks OPL out. I tried with a Windows XP machine and it works well there (though I don't know how to check Session Logs in XP; I just know OPL doesn't hang). I also tried two different games, and both didn't work with Windows 7: Leave them in a state where they don't load data (a menu or something), wait a minute or two, and Windows doesn't give OPL a new SMB session for some reason.

I'm thinking it has to have something to do with... some kind of timeout, but what exactly?

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I guess I forgot to say that the practical effect of this problem is that when you want to load data again, it hangs. For example, you open a door for the next area, and you're stuck in the black loading screen.

Yes, I had tried that. But even then, the default timeout value was 15, and I get disconnected after no more than -two- minutes.
A fresh XP install has more or less the same registry values and it worked fine.

check also your hard drive where the ISOs are sitting at. perhaps fragmented.

I've been playing for about 4 hrs straight now Ace Combat 5, no glitches through SMB/ETH.

Mapped Drive Connection to Network Share May Be Lost

That basically says the same thing as Windows XP, but at the bottom of the page it does say it applies to windows 7. It won't hurt to try.

Firewall turned off: Stops loading after less than two minutes idle.
File fragmentation: Was one of the first things I tried. Same as above.
Lanman Server configuration: Tried that, set values to 65535. Same as above.

I suppose I'll have to play through an XP VM. It's... a roundabout way to say the least, but I can't figure out what's wrong. Maybe I should try a fresh Win7 install, see what happens.
I'd really like to know what the problem is, though.

Are you using a Phat or Slim PS2?

Is your PC where you have your ISO's are connected directly to a router through Ethernet Cable? Or is it on Wireless Connection? I've always had a better experience that my PC is connected with cable than through wireless in my home network, when using OPL / SMB.

Also make sure you are using a CAT 5 cable with your PS2 and also PC.
