i can tell you that updating the one in that distro is quite an effort.

That is why i think it is better to dl 900mb than few times about 60mb and every time something is changed into ps2sdk or somewhere else downloading all again.
But it is only my opinion, Yoshis files are good if you dont fallow all new stuff or if you need something very fast

This is a noobie question, but I can't seem to figure out how to compile the source using the Ubuntu VMware player. I see the OPNPS2LD.ELF on the desktop and my USB drive works...but I'm not sure what to do after that. Please help. Thanks.

The one you have on desktop is the one you just compile - the newest version available at the time (you can always check by date.

Alright I think I got it figured out, took me awhile but it's actually kind of easy. One thing i noticed with r243 though is that SMB doesn't work, is it supposed to be like that?

edit: Okay, I used this command to get the latest files "hg clone http://bitbucket.org/volca/open-ps2-loader/", now what? lol

$ cd open-ps2-loader/
$ make

there is no better experience to enter the home folder from the tab at the top, instead of going into Computer, then enter the file system and eventually into the home folder

Thank you for the vid tutorial loki, this way is alot easier than typing the command manually in the terminal (I didn't realize I could just copy that file to desktop and run it to compile).

It's great to be able to compile the latest revisions though, but one thing I noticed with r243 is that SMB freezes after reaching 1 second on the countdown. It's supposed to not work with this revision right?

I also noticed that I can use this command to download the latest ifcaro revision right on Ubuntu

SMB works fine with R243, something is wrong with your network config if it is freezing.
