Download Ubuntu Virtual Machine + environment to compile OPL NEW VERSION –
02-20-2010,07:13 AM
I just created torrent with Ubuntu 11 and all stuff needed to compile OPL (all revisions).
It is about 869mb to download (3,66gb unpacked + 768mb for virtual memory(this can be changed in VMWARE PLAYER)).
You just need to unpack it with 7-zip(or HaoZip) ( Download ), download VMware Player ( Vmware player - download without registration/ ). Run it through VMware Player (Open a Virtual Machine and select folder where You unpacked my file). Double click on Ubuntu.
You will find shortcut on desktop - use it to compile latest OPL version and send it to desktop.
Default language ENGLISH
Ps2sdk updated to rev 610, github instead of bitbucket.

That will be impossible to do with os installed + env - because env takes about 620mb Here You have ubuntu(img file is about 700-800mb) with all files, not just same files.

on my in-progress setup whole ps2dev svn sources (including temporary files) take ~70mb and binaries take ~33mb.
now for the system. shouldn't take up as much space ;-)
It should definitely fit into 70-100mb... Unless you insist on adding all the unnecessary apps, x, kde, gnome, whatnot. It's useless if you run it on VM (especially that all the apps you will use are cli apps anyway). You don't even need smb, ftp or anything else for communication between VM and host. Just use the hgfs driver and share a dir or two.
I cant wait to see what you will doAnd yes i like GUI
My package is rather for newbie. Shell/terminal is rather for advanced people (I know you just need to know few commands - but this days it is hard for people because most of them use gui version of Os's and arent famillary with windows cmd or terminal - there use software as it is. So they must/will must chose - do the want to dl 900mb(but have all on desktop) or 100mb and do all by foot
And one more - for years no one do something like i did - and i am also new hereSo please dont complain that it is big - but it isnt in time when internet spped connection is in Mb/s not only few Kb/s
I dont want to be rude but i dont like when people complain but they dont do anything.
I know that you are doing other great things.
