Donwload cover integrated in open loader
Donwload cover integrated in open loader –

Hi i see every Wii loader can download cover automatic, i think this is good feature to implement in open loader.
I think a simple site with a system associate a cover name [SCUS_XXX.XX_COV.png] to image link in any imagehost[with mirrors].
Open loader get this image links from this site, download images and save on art folder.
This can be done in ps2?

Maybe, I think if you PS2 has a active internet connection someone can do it.

Oh, it's possible, but there's just one niggle with it: if the site hosting the covers goes down. In such an event, OPL has a feature that's no longer usable until a new host (and site) is re-compiled into the binary. It's the same problem that with cracked CB92 ELF I made with ffgriever's patch many moons ago. Day1 files worked fine until GSHI relocated their servers. Once the dust settled, I think bfoos released a re-cracked CB92 ELF with the corrected server address that restored Day1 functionality. The best way for OPL to implement such a feature is to have a configurable URL within the menu somewhere so that if a cover art mirror goes down, the user can point OPL to a different URL or IP address at their leisure ...

Yeah, was going to say that hardcoding it into OPL would be a bad thing, and to just put the code in to use a configurable address...but was beaten to it...
The feature would be good to have, I can't get the current hosted Cover Download pages to give me any cover other than a random cover I didn't click on. Especially when I click the All Button. I have had to resort to either skimming the html for the links and rebuilding them for jdownloader to grab, or try to grab every image on the page and note what ones didn't get grabbed and manually type their address to get them.
Any improvement on this would be greatly appreciated.

Obvious url need be changeable, in menu or in separated txt file.
Is more hard create site with covers links and this interaction between site and opl.
This feature at this moment is not a priority, some things is more important to do and program still under 1.0 that's means still in beta.
This suggestion for future versions after 1.0.

I agree that this would be great. With the Wii you can download wii, gamecube, and wiiware covers.

Yep, I did indeed release new cracked ELF files with Day1 restored and also started and completed a new project called GoodCBC. So all those Day1 files now contain only RAW codes.
I'd like to see cover downloads implemented into OPL as well.

A thought just hit me. The Cover Download function should also have a Toggle Button. I have a half functioning Sony Network Adapter, it works just fine for HDD access, but refuses to function under OPL and connects through HDL Server, but crashes any transfer in progress. I don't use the network part of the adapter in an (misguided?) attempt to keep it from complete failure and loosing HDD access as I cant afford a replacement.
Personally, I would be happier having a mass Cover/ICO/screen shot zip that I could download and just place in my ART folder.
@bfoos Thank you for letting us know about GoodCBC. Now I just have to figure out how to get into the PCB file on HDD, strip it out, and replace/update it. I am not very happy that I can't back it up in case of HDD failure. (Unlikely, but I am using an old HDD.)
*Edit
@bfoos Thank you for the Updated Codebreaker Elfs.
Apparently the Codebreaker that bfoos updated will connect to the Gamehacking Org server... I have no idea why I have problems with OPL and HDL Serv.

No problem. And actually, aside from my codebreaker and GoodCBC contributions to the scene... I actually submitted a third and it relates to grabbing the cheats file from the PP.SLUS-20202.1108.PCB partition.
Relevant info located in the following thread/post... http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?p=983411
As far as modifying the cheats file, well that's easy too. cb2util is what you're after.
And to expand on my instructions in the uLE thread... to replace the cheats files on hdd, the easiest way would probably be to use pfsshell to do it, but I never tried it. I just use uLE to copy it to mc0:/PCB/ then load CB, go into the cheats menu and select any game and add new code or edit existing then cancel out or make any other change to the code list and CB will ask to save it, at which point it will overwrite the cheats files on HDD.
Enjoy!
