Is how all good gaming systems came to be
Heh, I never got a chance to test my 12500 build of OPL that morning.
Smoked a few coffee beans, drank a cigarette, and forgot all about it!
But it's been holding up for the past week on Xenosaga Trilogy marathon!
I just cleared Atelier Iris 1 NTSC with this fix(and 12500)....and mode 2(I'm not sure if mode 2 is actually needed but before that fix existed, mode 2 was almost fixing the problem(the skipping were not so often))
There are still skipping here and there but they are so rare that you can forget that this problem actually exist.
But sadly, like on HDL,the problem with the freezing before the credits exist on OPL too(well on internal hdd,I didn't tried other devices)...you can't make clear game data if you don't play the last boss from the disk(I used pcsx2 to fight him(with cheats...1 hit kill )and make clear game save)
I think its specific to games developed by Gust ... but yet it's not a consistent one. Out of the entire Atelier Iris trilogy and the two Ar Tonelicos I've slogged through so far, (still haven't beaten the two Mana Khemias), the only one that bombs at the credits before you can make a game clear save is the first Atelier Iris game. The other Gust games proceed to the game clear save, reboots -- triggering OPL's flashing colors again -- and goes back to the intro/title screen with one exception: Ar Tonelico 1. That game makes the clear save, reboots, and then hard locks into a BSOD immediately after OPL gets done flashing colors and it takes IGR down with it.
It's the only time IGR ceases to function for that game ...
IOP is getting hosed somehow after the game-clear save and reboot ...
Yes,I clear all of those games(Atelier Iris 1/2/3,Mana Khemia 1/2,Ar Tonelico 1/2)on my HDD(not all of them using OPL)and the only game that freeze before the credits is Atelier Iris 1.

Mana Khemia 2 have couple of know freezing points(those are game bugs)
Ar Tonelico 2 freezes randomly when you exit to the word map but that was long ago(like I said some pages back, the game don't freeze anymore...well at least here)
I don't remember such a thing about Ar Tonelico 1 and I played the whole game not too long ago(till the real final boss...chapter 3)but just to be sure,I just clear the game now and save the clear game data...everything was fine,no locks/freezes(all modes and dma modes are set to default)

With as many views this thread has generated, ifcaro and volca has most likely seen and read it by now or had it PMed to them. Volca turned up recently in the SMAP driver thread and that sparked a new fork on the OPL repository to beta test OPL's embedded HDL Server with that SMAP driver. Very interesting and exciting stuff!
I hope you're right about that.
I have to second this. I played both Ar Tonelico and Ar Tonelico II thoroughly with OPL. I didn't enable any modes or anything. I had no crashes (except the Raki bug, but that's not any fault in OPL or anything like that but a simple screwup during the localization process and only one of many screwups, just the only one that actually causes a crash) and no weird noise bugs. I'm absolutely 100% positive because I spent quite a few hours on each game. Ar Tonelico officially had 47 hours on it, but there are more than that because I got an ending I didn't really want by default and kept going back to the last save trying to figure out how to do what I needed to do to get the one I wanted (it's a really stupid arbitrary requirement too.) Ar Tonelico II was around 67 or so hours and, again, other than the Raki bug, there were no issues for me at all. Trust me when I say I was listening thoroughly as each of these games have excellent music (particularly Ar Tonelico II -- when I got to the map screen on phase 2 on up I often had to just stop and listen for a while even -- but even in Ar Tonelico I enjoyed a lot of tracks, particularly the hymmnos) and had the volume turned up and some fairly decent speakers (albeit nothing really audiophile on this setup, but much better than the built-in speakers on my TV) so ANY sound issues would have been blatantly obvious...

I remember I used to do this years ago back when I used USBadvance to play games on a slim PS2 back before OPL even was conceived of. After seeing that replacing the DNAS with IOPRPs to solve a very similar startup crash, I thought to switch the IOPRPs in games that weren't working with USBadvance/USBeXtreme using the same numbered IOPRPs from a known working game. This didn't work on all of them, but it did actually fix quite a few. I do of course realize that this is a pretty messy solution, but if it worked, it would completely replace the offending function without requiring any external hacks and it could even be something that could be implemented as an xdelta3 patch or something simple like that, right? (Well, I'll understand if this is just ridiculous and impossible, but I do kind of wonder atm at least if something simple might be overlooked since you normally wouldn't want to do something like this, but this isn't exactly a normal issue either.)
Hi. Sorry to bother but i don't know how to PM members...
Could you guys kindly tell me where to find an OpenLoader already modded for shadow hearts 2?
I'm too noob to compile that myself
That you very much if you can help
