I've tried DDR Max 1, 2, and Extreme (both the Japanese and US versions of Max 1 and 2 and Jap Extreme), and none of them seem to work.

I'm attempting to load them from USB. Does anyone happen to have any settings or fixes for any of these?

    I tested:

    DDR 6th JP
    DDR MAX US
    DDR 7th JP
    DDRMAX2 US
    DDR Extreme JP
    DDR Extreme US
    DDR Extreme 2
    DDR Festival JP
    DDRX JP
    DDRX US
    DDRX2 US
    DDR Supernova US
    DDR Supernova 2 US
    DDR Party Collection JP

And all of the worked using OPS2L 0.6 (i assume the test versions are still called OPS2L 0.6 :P) in a fat ps2 console with official NA and Maxtor HDD but i noticed that sometimes the music and the arrows loose synchronization, but using test versions and activating Compatibility mode 3 the problem is solved.

Im confused....are you trying from USB or arent you?

I can confirm DDRMax2 US works fine from both USB and Network, using the same USB HDD...no modes used. But i also havent played since i dont have a mat, the kids do.

I think he means he's trying to load from a USB stick rather than a USB HDD.
Maybe he's using an incompatible USB stick.

Ahh.....ok, i wasnt thinking of that, but maybe thats what he meant by "must have something to do with my memory card", since i cant see how a PS2 MC would make a difference. I know some people refer to a USB flash stick as a memory card on other consoles.

In fact some games do have problems with the large non-Sony memory cards, as the methods they use to calculate free space may be inappropriate.

For some cases, such as the 'Battle Trophy' saves of "Star Ocean" I have had to consume lots of extra space on the card first, so as to bring down the amount of free space to a value acceptable to the calculation method used by the game, so as to proceed with the saving. Otherwise it would refuse claiming that there was no room for the save, as it saw the overly large space as a negative number. Another solution would of course have been to use an MC of standard 8MB size to initialize that battle trophy save, after which it could be copied to a large MC and used there without problems. (The space calculation is only done in creating that file, not in updating it later with new trophies.)

    Best regards: dlanor
