    hi there,
i'm facing a problem with loading cut-scene (movies) of many games (grandia3, onimusha) where the game just skip the scene & continue to game-play
i'm using Mcboot 1.8, OPL 0.8 (both iso & usbextreme ripped games) phat PS2, external HDD (100GB partition of 1TB HDD) defragmented
any solution to play the scenes !!

Are you sure it's not just a gamepad problem.

Some gamepads get oversensitive and start spouting button press codes just if you hold them tightly (tensions in the plastic etc), and sometimes it can happen because some dirt or lint prevents a button from sliding out properly after being depressed. And nearly all games check for some button the user can press to skip past the movies, so any such spontaneous button codes can cause skipping.

If it was just one game, then I'd suspect some compatibility problem specific to that game, and maybe that you'd need some different game-specific option set in OPL, but as you say that this problem (which I never see) affects many games, my first suspicion would be a hardware problem, such as with the gamepad. Have you tried any of these same games from original discs lately, just to verify that the problem is not present there too ? Because if it is still present there too, that clinches the problem as not due to OPL.

    Best regards: dlanor

i though so too, so i checked the original discs and all the scenes played perfectly without skipping, moreover it's not with all the games but most of them (FFXII dsnt skip), so i think it has something to do with OPL!!

If those cut-scenes are in PSS file format, and Mode 4 is enabled, OPL won't play 'em.
