Hello! I've created an account on this forum just for this topic, so please, please, help me. I've tried all the ways that you guys showed here to convert a PS1 game to iso, but none of them worked for me.. On the CDmage, the option "Extract track" don't shows up when i right click the track on the left panel, and when i right click the track on the right panel, i try to extract as MODE1/2048, but it gives me a message of an error (something about the Mode). Every single iso that i put on OPL fails, even a copy of an original game.. How could it be? What can i do to fix it? Thanks in advance guys.
OPL only plays PS2 games, not PS1.
What is the tactic if you have a folder of CD files (001, 002, 003, etc.)? How do I get that into an ISO?
this is a splitted RAR archive, extract it with winrar...
I figured that out after the fact!
You guys like things complicated, huh ?
I use this python script to convert BIN/CUE PS2 CD image files into "fake mode1/2048":
it takes in.bin as the input file and out.iso should be a ready to use ISO in the OPL format. It can also be edited/modded after stripped from ECC data. You can use CDMAGE to regenerate the ECC data (aka: turn it back into a .BIN file) if you want to burn it to a disc again after modding. I use the script to strip because it's simpler than firing up CDMAGE every time I need a convert.Code:
preblock = 24
block = 2048
crc = 280
out = open("out.iso","wb")
input = open("in.bin","rb")
data = input.read(preblock)
data = input.read(block)
if not data: break
Converting back requires recalculation of all ECC data and that means only CDMAGE can do it.
I have a question regarding this and I am hoping jayjay can answer it since its regarding his ps2psxe bundle. Is it possible to put the ps1 games in the games folder and then turn the whole bundle into an iso to install with hdl_dump and play the iso from hdd via opl 9.1? im really hoping I can do this because the only games im interested in are FF 7-9, and tactics. if it is possible but not as simple as I think, (use imgburn to turn whole folder into 1 iso) then please provide an explanation on how to do it. if your not sure, I don't mind being a test dummy, just let me know.
