The issue with the SMB pkg is that the CFG might differ from user to user depending what theme they use and the data for the Info page. For the info page the data is not standard.
And with the VMC files, not everyone uses the SMB manner. Some prefer using their mc cards for the saves.
I believe the best choice is to create a new database. Have at least 5 members that are dedicated to have access to update it. And after 5 or 10 years, let us know that you will be letting go of the mission and give another group the opportunity to proceed where you left off.
PS3: Slim 320GB / CFW KMEAW 3.55 / multiMAN v04.xx.xx / blackb0x FTP Server v1.2 3.55 w/ FlashFXP 4.2.x
PS2: SLIM & PHAT / FreeMcBOOT w/ESR & OPL 9-r651 / SMS w/PSClient v1.3.1
PSP: PHAT / 5.00 M33-6
Not to mention that some games don't even lift with VMC. I do like the idea of the config files, though.. but I see how it could cause a problem if the user is not familiar.

oplinfo.x11s.org/files/insert.php - submit titles/region/modes/notes to the list
oplinfo.x11s.org/files/complist.php - view the list
The next step with the database is figuring out how to stop duplicate entries, spam, and make all text areas mandatory. Then I will work on making it look nice.
