Can't access game settings in OPL - Please help!
Can't access game settings in OPL - Please help! –
02-18-2013,07:44 AM
I set up a new hdd for my ps2 and for some reason I can not access the game setting option in OPL. One thing I did notice I did differently this time around was that I set the +OPL partition after installing some games (I usually make it first before installing anything)
Could this be the problem, and if so is there anyway to fix the issue? I would really hate to have to start from scratch because I can not set VMC's or mode fixes through OPL.
Im also trying to make the setup as MC free as possible all my configurations are set to the hd. I have already tried booting 2 different OPL's with and with out a memory card to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

You mean you can't press triangle to access the game settings? Or the settings just don't get saved?
I've never had that problem, but I did install the OPL partition after installing games using uLE and it works fine. VMCs and config files are saved normally. So I don't think that's your problem. The only thing I can think of is maybe you misnamed it "+OPL" and uLE adds an extra + by default, which won't work.

The first one, pressing triangle doesn't bring up the menu at all. My OPL partition is named correctly I have no problems with any other features, saving system settings, viewing cover art, etc.

how did you create your +OPL partition If you used ev then may be not correct I posted it has a 2G creation Problem
if you used uLE not ev then go inside of +OPL and make a folder that is named CFG VMC and ART and yes must be capital then try again see if it works then
One other thing if you are using the OPL that was installed with image is is different then official version just take a copy of official and rename it EXECUTE.ELF and place in OPL partition that the other was in it will work change if you want the name of the other EXECUTE.ELF just in case

Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

I created using regular ULE, I know how the folders should be setup ive done it numerous times, that's why I done understand this little hiccup except for the fact that I put the opl partition about mid hdd instead of the beginning. I even recreated the partition to make sure.
I did notice there is no files in my CFG folder, if that means anything, but I figured its because I haven't been able to save any game settings

Nevermind, the triangle button not working on my controller would explain things, you can imagine how silly I feel right about now.
