    Hello,
For the SMB network on Open PS2 Loader, is there a specific kind of crossover cable I need? I got my eye on a CAT5e crossover patch cable, I don't know what the "patch" is. Will it work just fine? I don't want to mess up a buy, I've never even heard of a crossover cable before this... Thanks.

Well it should work but if your network adapter has auto sense you may not need a crossover try to connect with your normal cable and see if you can get OPL to work

    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

if you're connecting to a router/switch/hub then you dont need a cross-cable. the only time you need a cross-cable is between two end units wanting to connect directly together. it just swaps the receive & transmit lines so that it doesnt end up being receive-to-receive & transmit-to-transmit (like a normal eth cable). connecting through a router's built-in switch or a regular eth switch/hub needs a regular cable only.

"patch" just means it's a really short cable, probably 3ft or less. cat5e supports up to gigabit ethernet, so it's probably overkill and not worth it if you can find a regular cat5 for cheaper.

    Thanks sel2killa,
I'm gonna have to use the crossover cable though because I do plan on connecting it straight on. I think I'm just gonna go with the cat5e, I can't find and cat5 on amazon at all, plus it's only $5.

Just connect your regular Ethernet wire to PS2 and run OPL SMB mode and setup correctly for use with OPL of course if your card has Auto sensing you will of course see your game list displayed and of course you could just look up your card with google and check the spec.
