i'm surely confusing about this. i'm using opl 0.7 r471, on my slim with external hdd. so, of course, i'm using fmcb to boot my opl. i know the save setting for opl configuration are saved in MC:\OPL\conf_opl.cfg. now, i have this ps2 fat with matrix and network, and of course, winhiip games, with hdloader as the boot. then I try to use my opl on this machines. everything was success, the making of new partition for theme and art (using ps2pfs explorer), except for saving configuration of my opl. it said errors. so, my question is, where does the configuration saved are being held?
I try to insert my mc on my re-start, so the opl can load the configuration from it. and yes, it loaded. so, does the configuration seting can only be saved on mc, and not in internal hdd?

    Correct.

As OPL have a selective device option, it must read its conf from the MC, to know first what device to start.

If you have a PS2 with a chip and internal HDD, you really don't need a memory card. Set OPL to boot with dev2, and then auto start the HDD from the main settings and edit the VMC settings for the game to use your existing save. As long as you are using the generic_X, or SLXX_XXX.XX_X format it only takes a few seconds, but too bad you have to do it every time :P

Even more annoying if you are exploiting a game lobby:

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66947 (Billing on OPL)

and you don't want customers to mess settings (if not even compiled in childproof mode).

But ... who really knows ...
