[SOLVED]OPL v0.7 freezes on startup (Network Loading - 1)
[SOLVED]OPL v0.7 freezes on startup (Network Loading - 1) –
I am trying to run OPL v0.7 on my PS2 SCPH-90004 but can't get it working. It doesn't just start!
I'm using a netgear router with DHCP enabled. My laptop has ip - 10.0.0.3 and I had earlier assigned 10.0.0.4 to OPL v0.6 (which didn't work for me because of the Matrix Infinity mod-chip).
I use uLaunch ELF to start OPENPS2LD.elf
After starting mc0:/OPENPS2LD.elf , I can see the normal startup screen. Then, network loading starts and freezes at Network Loading - 1
When I logged into my router for configuration and click on "Attached Devices", I can see my laptop and PS2 connected to it with IP Address as -
Laptop - 10.0.0.3
PS2 - 10.0.0.4
Can anybody help?

I'm having the same problem under OPL v0.7. My PS2slim is connected via crossover cable to my PC. It'll freeze when it hits 1 second on the count down timer.
I figured I'd try OPL v0.6 to see if I could get any different results. When I try to see networked games in 0.6, it'll run the count down timer but it won't freeze, it'll just say "no games".
I can ping the PS2's IP address, so I know the PC and PS2 are communicating with each other.
I had also experienced similar behaviour with v0.6 .
Are you using any mod-chip? Which one?
Can coders of this project help us out as this seems to be a bug?
Sorry if I'm wrong.
Check your PM box.
Please GIVE us more details:
IP, netmask, gateway for each of your devices.
In case it still fail, recheck your whole configuration, then send us a Wireshark capture of the traffic, but after giving us more details!
Thanks for the prompt response Jimmi,
I tried the .elf you linked me to and that doesn't work either. Perhaps the problem is that I am setting the gateway and my PC settings the same?
IP = 192.168.0.10
Mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway = 192.168.0.1
IP = 192.168.0.10
Port = 445
Share = PS2SMB
User = Guest
No Firewalls active on PC
I've attached a the packet capture file from Wireshark.

Yep, change either your PC IP or PS2 IP.
Also you didn't give PC netmask and gateway of the network device you're using.
it's working for me!
it's working for me! –
finally, I got it working. Here's what I did
I bought a cross-over cable.
Assigned my PC a static IP address.
Opened OpenPS2Loader v0.6 configured it accordingly and tried to check if my games appeared in the list. As mod-chips aren't supported , the OPL freezed as expected.
I restarted my PS2 , this time OPL v0.7 and lo! I was inside. I scrolled to Network Games and wait for it to load and my games appeared in the list! I started PES and it was working awesome.
Thanks to the whole OPL team. BTW, I'm too a web developer (PHP) and want to help you badly for this great work you guys are doing. If you need any assistance, please PM, I will reply you my previous experience. Plus, I'd love to contribute to this wonderful FOSS :-)
My ethernet card on my PC is set to a static IP address of 192.168.0.1. The subnetmask of the PC is 255.255.255.0. Gateway is left blank. These are all the settings under TCP/IP under the ethernet card.

Here's a link to a picture of my settings on my PC to show how it's set up. I've networked my xbox180 before this way, so it's not like I'm completely inexperienced.
I got it! The problem was that I had a password on the user account under Windows XP. It's working via crossover as well now.
