WIP: PS3 NAND/NOR Flashers
WIP: PS3 NAND/NOR Flashers –
07-04-2011,01:02 PM
It been a while since we hear from ufc6667 after he made his first NOR dump a while ago, but recently in the background he been working on his own PS3 NAND/NOR Flasher Software and to top it all off also another developer by the name Stoney2759 has been using the Teensy++ in his spare time and working on his own version of a PS3 NOR Flasher which he plans to release as open-source for all those that still have Teensy's left-over from the first PSGroove Dongle Days!

Now, remember this is all a "Work-In-Progress" project by the developers and this just an news story to inform you of their progress, so there is no dates on when this is all going to be ready and working for the public to go crazy over, and it is only still half the battle, having a simple flashing hardware and noobie software is no good without the information on what to do with your internal PS3 flash after you dump it, and ready to destory it or flash it!
I need hlp with teensy++ firmware. I can get defyboys sample code to compile to ihex. #teensy++ #ps3nor
My NORFlash 1.0 for teensy is almost finished just a lil more coding and it's done. Redesigned
Here's a pic of what I've been waiting for to finish first stage of my ps3 project

My teensy++ finally arrived today. can't wait to wire it up.
Re-Writing my NORFlash program changing the looks and adding some functions..
But, lucky the team over at GitBrew has been hinting of putting together information and working on testing a v3.56+ exploit, and at least releasing the how-to in getting your unique per-console PS3 Root Key, as they have no plans to release a newer CFW, so this is where all this Noobie Flasher Software will come in handy then, as long as you got the heart to risk opening up your PS3 and soldering a bunch of wires!
For now, all we can do is sit back and watch in the background all the action and follow their progress, but it looks like we finally getting some amazing forward movement in the 'PS3 Scene' since the Geohot & Lawsuit days are over, and it looks like some new 'scene' developers have got the balls and guts to start crunching away!

This'll be good for NOR consoles. NAND consoles should just stick to infectus 2.
Edit: And your source must be THAT site
, that site gets censored.

Yup, I was looking at defyboy's Teensy NOR flasher and it made me die a little. It looked like the hardest thing to solder. Glad I got a NAND console.

All CECHA-CECHG are NAND. CECHH-current are NOR.

If installing a newer cfw were to require soldering, no thanks. I think I'd rather buy a new ps3 and put 3.55 on it. It's not like 3.56+ ps3 are being sold anyway, anything is still 3.55 or below and even if there was, there is a list of ps3 models along with the version they come with you can find easily with google. Just buy a ps3 with a version 3.50 or below by looking at the model number behind the box.

I highly doubt that. 3.56 was released 7 months (?) ago. Maybe some of the consoles still being sold are 3.55 or lower, but definitely not all of them. Sony isn't that stupid.

True, but some people for whatever reason prefer hardware modding over installing a CFW. And just looking at the model number behind the box doesn't guarantee it is pre 3.55
