could you post a video,you will just end everybody's problems instantly
You make the pkg file with this, which you install onto the ps3. Then you go to the ps3 with one of the file managers and copy USRDIR from the game disc/backup to where you pointed to in the EBOOT.ELF file.Originally Posted by moeaz05
Defaults to \dev_hdd0\game\GAMEID\USRDIR if you edit the EBOOT.ELF according to the batch files default instruction (Read as, you just push enter when prompted for a folder name) but don't over right the EBOOT.BIN on the ps3 other wise you'll break it. Just do it folder to folder. You can also transfer the files over FTP.
From now on, please ask these question in the forum topic. You're question may be someone else'es question unasked.
@vampirexx -
I updated the batch file so it's a bit clearer now. The pkg will always install to \dev_hdd0\game\GAMEID
It's up to you to point there or to another directory where the games files will be. If your game files are located in \dev_hdd0\games\ff13 then you'd change \dev_bdvd\PS3_GAME\USRDIR to \dev_hdd0\games\ff13\USRDIR
I'd keep it simple and I just push enter when prompted for the dir. I really should of left that option out as I can see it causing a lot of questions. Maybe I'll remove it?
@darthsnake
What program would I use to make a video?
@salemsayed - This will work on 3.41 if you select "n" when asked to finalize the package. You finalize the package for 3.55 for geohots MFW. I figured out that the reason my pkg wasn't installing on 3.41 was because I was finalizing the pkg file. You can extract the game data from the bdvd or send it over via ftp. I'll regret this next line, You can also copy the game to a usb device TO COPY THE GAME DATA TO THE PS3 INTERNAL HARDDRIVE. YOU CANNOT RUN A GAME FROM USB USING THIS METHOD.
Kayot, I tired with the new updated script but same problem. But can you allow the script to install in a subdirectory other than the game folder??
Like BLES01062/PS3_GAME
I dont think it's a good idea changing the elf and overwriting datas to add a path....
This game has got this root directory that is not the main one... so how can I solve? Maybe should I put all files into main dir without repsecting original order?
If I put all files into main dir doesn't work, I should change all the elf paths....
Please i guess the best bet is that you can add the subfolder option to install
@vampirexx - Your the one ultimatly incharge of where the files go. It's when you edit the EBOOT.ELF. Your pointing to where the files are. All the batch file does is tell you that. You could in theory put the files where ever you'd like so long as you can fit the path inside the EBOOT.ELF
If you find that your over writing data, then there is something wrong with the game itself. I hit that problem with Armored Core 4. I haven't been able to solve it yet. I'm thinking it may require a bit of assembly to fix since you'd have to shift pointers for the next command, which is way above most of this forums head, but would make for a hell of a tech doc.I dont think it's a good idea changing the elf and overwriting datas to add a path....
Remember, I'm new to this as well. I just made my first one about an hour ago and was writing this by the seat of my pants. If you could upload your EBOOT.ELF and the root files of PS3_GAME minus USRDIR since that's the game and for the most part, freaking huge I'll look at it. Before that though, what game is this? I might have it.
Ok thanx for your efforts Kayot! You rock with this tool and I think with a little work it could be perfect! Anyway I try to put all files into main directory and change all the references inside elf to point to main folders now if I launch the game I have ERROR 80010007 .......
I send you by private message the original files except the usrdir in a few moments, anyway the game is fist of the north star ken's rage european version.
Thanx
I'll send you the files in a minute I'm uploading it.
I fear that changing too much elf can screw it....
Why cannot implement the subfolders installation choice?
Nevermind I give up![]()

I'm revising the batch file.
It had an s at the end of games, that was a mistake on my part. It should be /dev_hdd0/game/GAMEID/USRDIR for where you put your files, but the batch had you edit it as /dev_hdd0/games/GAMEID/USRDIR
As for the batch and why putting in the directory doesn't effect anything. Originally I intended for this to work with Debug.exe. It would have searched for the line and replaced it automatically. However Debug doesn't run on x64 bit machines, nor does it come with Win7. So that idea's gone. Softice is commercial so that's a no go too.
I'm looking into making a VB.NET app that will do all of this in a GUI. I'm having a problem passing commands to a dos prompt, so that will be a while down the road. Once I figure that out, the fun begins.
