The Vault-Tek EBOOT Creation Kit
Please report what build was inside the Readme.txt!
Desc: This is a script/program that converts PS3 games into PSN like titles. The idea is that unencrypted PSN games can and will run without backup manager support and/or jailbreaking. This also puts the games directly on the XMB and runs them directly therefore putting the GameID forward on PSN, though that is still speculation for the most part.
sub_pack.7z BUILD 0.15 Updated 11:44pm Jan 16, 2011
core_pack.7z - The unchanging files, only need this once.
We have an SVN now! If you want the files as they come out and not as slow as I upload them, go to the SVN! Remember, this is for programmers only. Also, when reporting errors, also report the build number in the readme.txt.
Q. Where do I put my game files?
A. During the process the program will tell you where to put the game data. This is usually in USRDIR but can change depending on the game in question.
Q. My game doesn't work/drops back to GameOS/Crashes the system, what did I do wrong.
A. Probably nothing. This is still highly experimental and prone to failure. As we learn more about the EBOOT.ELF format we might be able to run games that were previously not working. That however is an ambitions statement and for now very hard to backup.
UPDATE: I'm not entirely sure of this, but I believe that dropping to the XMB means it couldn't find the files, where as crashing the PS3 means the EBOOT wasn't edited correctly. I need to confirm this.
Q. Can I help?
A. YES, use this program and do the steps and report your working games with their GAMEID. If a game doesn't work report that as well. Please don't ask if a game is working if it's not on the list. As we develop this project we'll occasionally retest the games. If a game is reported as not working and you get it working tell us how you did it. That information will be incorporated in the next version.
Q. Does the pkg create the proper folder on the ps3 when you install it?
A. No, it does not. The program tells you ~about where it should go. It could be all over the place. Normally the USRDIR folder is where you put the data. Like in FF13 you copy white_data out of USRDIR on the disc and into /dev_hdd0/R/T00003/USRDIR on the PS3.
Q. My update failed, why?
A. The updater is highly experimental, notice the big screen full of red text that
pleads with you to not do it? Until Geohot or other party releases a npdrm decrypter
it won't work 100% of the time, and even afterwards it still won't be 100%.
Q. I have an error, what do I do?
A. That depends on the error. Make sure you've read all the posts. Also make sure you
have the dependencies installed:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) NO LONG NEEDED!!!!
If those are installed, then report what the problem was. And again, remember this is
an experimental program, not a solution!

Update 10:50am Jan 11, 2011 - Changed the batch, just copy and paste into runme.bat replacing all text in the file.
Update 1:58pm Jan 11, 2011 - Another batch/readme.txt update
Update 2:41pm Jan 12, 2011 - Overhauled the entire project with Valarnin's amazing programs. Also trimmed away all the unneeded exe etc files. If you still want them, their in another post. Also got rid of the extra programs like HxD since they aren't needed anymore.
Update 6:31pm Jan 12, 2011 - Removed a variable that had been superseded yet was still being declared, and changed lines involving said variable %hdd0%
Update 11:15pm Jan 12, 2011 Another major rewrite of the batch command, sfo_patch is also updated with a new error code (2) to help with determining paths.
Update 10:40pm Jan 14, 2011 Another major rewrite of the batch command, this time I added functions.cmd which holds a lot of the extra text and a few functions. I'm tired of accidentally breaking them so this is safer. Added is a new HIGHLY experimental and mostly untested auto patch. Use at your own risk. Seriously, it's not just risky, it's stupid and reckless. Enjoy testing it out, but don't be surprised if it out right fails.
Update 10:48am Jan 16, 2011 An update. A few things were fixed, the update_game is still experimental. A bunch of games work, a few games don't. The Don't list needs to be retested as the newer program might be able to handle them now. [Build 0.01] I'm adding a build number, Please report what build was inside the Readme.txt!
UPDATE 1:38pm Jan 16, 2011 Did some updating of the runme.bat, Readme.txt and functions.cmd. The files will now output with the game name to help select which one to install (AKA mass testing), though the path seems to default to /dev_hdd0/game/GXXXNNNNN/ which isn't correct as some games ask for a dir. -kayot
Me (Kayot) - I started the ball rolling on the script idea.
Valarnin - Made some programs that really helped and removed the need for HxD and PS3SFOEDIT
