ahh thats right, I do remember seeing updates on that... perhaps someone will port over dosbox so we can have a half ass running windows 95... Though xp would be nice, not sure how well anything would be able to run under it however.
You can get Windows running under Qemu on PS3 Linux apparently. I'm re-downloading YD 6.2 at the minute, I might give it a shot if I have time!

yeah, I had ubuntu on my ps3 before as other OS... I thought it was too slow, just would like to see someone make windows run through the Game OS if its possible to get it running at a decent speed. Whats the ps3 have 512mb ram?

You will never see windows running from the XMB. Its not possible to have windows run natively.
ahh ok, my thought was the hypervisor was limiting how much use of the hardware linux could access and thats why it was so slow

Linux will always be relatively slow on PS3 due to limited RAM, however the newer AsbestOS could be much more responsive and much better graphically than the older OtherOS, because AsbestOS has full access to the GFX hardware. But there is no driver for this yet so it's a way off.Quote:

Not sure how ReactOS is shaping up but if it does what they are hoping and is able to run most programs designed for Win Xp it might be a good XP alternative for the PS3. That is if it was optimized for the cell architecture.
