Okay, back when the PS3Jailbreak community was in its infancy and when I used to be a member at psgroove, not psx-scene :P, I remember a lot of people wanting to install alternative operating systems on the console. I remember seeing people installing windows xp and 7, but it had painfully slow start up speeds amongst other things. The consensus was that it was get it to run smoothly on the ps3, as it was ARM based, which uses reduced instruction set computing, while intel/AMD chips uses complex instruction set computing.

BUT Windows 8 is being made for ARM chips as well CISC chips, since they're introducing win 8 to the tablet market. Just thought I'd mention it, seeing as it may lead to some interesting work.

Feel free to move or delete if you think this is 'lame' :P.

That is probably literally the worst idea I have ever heard. Why would you want to put that on a PS3 even if it was possible. It's retarded.

Sorry, the PS3 is NOT ARM based, but it has a PowerPC processor. It cannot run windows 8, only theoretically OSX 10.0 - 10.5.8 ...

Dang. My memory must have failed me :P. BUT THE POINT STILL STANDS. PowerPC chips still uses RISC (reduced instruction set computing), like ARM chips. Meaning this could still be possible, as they use similar formats, with the main point being Win8 has support for RSCI (ARM/PowerPC chips) as well as CSCI your moden Desktop intel/AMD chips) (Although it seems not many people want it XD). But hey I may be spouting bull :P.

Correct, both ARM and PowerPC use RISC. This however, does not make them compatible by default. By that logic, I could install Windows 8 on an AVR or a PIC. RISC is just the instruction set, not the architecture which you will find are largely different.
