Now you are getting it helooth. But I choose to use Port E for the control and A for address bus.
I can confirm that the Teensy++ 2.0 reads and writes just fine. I have completed wiring it up:

I have also tested some basic code for reading, I have sent some autoselect commands and those seem to also work properly.
Have also been able to use it as a sniffer, to sniff out addresses and data that the PS3 reads.
Unfortunately due to an unnoticed issue with the external PSU I was using, It overvolted the board randomly and I am no longer able to test it.
I am currently rewriting the software and have ordered another console to test with. I will be using raw USB HID rather than Virtual Serial as I have found this to be much faster, I will have to write some PC side software however.
I will look into if the external power is necessary, the Teensy regulator should be 500ma at 3.3v, IIRC the board only drew about 300ma but the regulator was extremely hot to the touch.
I have found what I think is a diag mode that displays error codes using the power button light, kind of like what an OBD-1 ECU on a car would do. To activate it you have to do a fan test and wait until after the ps3 powers off(this much I am sure of) then you have to press eject and then power rapidly many times in succession also try holding eject and pressing power. Once you enter this mode the power light will flash yellow for about 1 second then the status of 4 component's(which ones I don't know) within the ps3 will be displayed by the power light blinking 4 times for each 4 component's. Then the yellow light blinks again letting you know the cycle has started again.
On my bricked slim the first sequence of 4 is: green red green red.
On my working slim the first sequence is: red red red red.
On both consoles the next 3 sequence's, are all red.
So it seems that red=good and green=bad.
Also I removed the Blu-ray drive on my bricked slim and the codes did not change.

Very interesting butnut. I have a dead PS3 on the way, I shall try this on it. Perhaps it could be binary, with the failure reading 1010000000000000 or hex A000h
