Transfert trophy between Backuped PS3
Transfert trophy between Backuped PS3 –
04-10-2012,09:01 AM
Here is my question, I have 3 Ps3 ...
A) Ps3 slim with OFW 4.11 ( previosly was 3.55 CFW )
B) Ps3 slim with CFW 3.55 ( 20 new platinum trophy )
C) Ps3 fat with CFW 3.55 ( just take from my brother )
The (B) was backuped from (A) and has already my PSN configured ready with 20 platinum trophy
Now I would like to backup (B) TO (C) and copy trophy via FTP from (B) to (C).
Then last thing is upgrade (C) to 4.11 to sync my platinum trophy ....
I prefer to upgrade the FAT and leave CFW on the slim...
Does this work ??? or I will fail ???

Since the ps3 with the new trophys cannot be sync'd via psn (as you do not want to upgrade it) your best option to transfer trophys is this:
1) On the 3.55 CFW ps3 you want to update, create a user profile with the same name as the one with the trophies.
2)Skip this step if you only have one profile on the update ps3. Go into your favorite file manager (I prefer multiman's) and navigate to /dev_hdd0/home/ you will see multiple folders similar to /00000001/ These are the profiles stored on the ps3. Make note of the one that has a creation date of today, as it is the profile you just created. If you only see one, you only had one profile.
3)Go to the ps3 with the trophies. Open a file manager and browse to /dev_hdd0/home/ again you may see multiple folders indicating multiple profiles.
WARNING IT MIGHT NOT HAVE THE SAME NUMBER AS THE OTHER PS3!!!
To tell the difference you need to know the date you last saved a game playing with that profile. Open one of the numbered folders, go to savedata, and look for the recent game save. If it is not there try the next numbered profile folder.
4) At this point you may have noticed there is a folder in there called trophy. Either copy the folder to an external device (thumbdrive) or ftp it over to another device.
5)Take the thumbdrive and stick it in the ps3 to be upgraded. Navigate to /dev_hdd0/home/(the number I said to save)/trophy/ and copy all of the contents into it.
6)After the transfer is complete, turn off the upgrade ps3. Go into recovery menu by holding the power button till it power cycles, then hold it again til you hear two quick beeps.
7) Select rebuild database and wait for it to complete. You 3.55 Fat will have all your trophies, and is now ready for you to update to 4.11 if you want.
WARNING if you do not rebuild the database, games with trophies may fail to load
WARNING do not update until you know you have all of your trophies this is not tested on 4.11

Many many thanks ... step 1-5 are the same that I have in mind ...
Point 6-7 are what i don't know ...
but I must be sure ( if someone has try ) that after point 7 and after upgrade to 4.11, my (new) platinum sync with my online profile without problems ...
Last thing ... I don't understand this ... >>> do not update until you know you have all of your trophies this is not tested on 4.11 <<< ... what you mean ???
The trophy that I have with CFW 3.55 are with the same account of PSN ( If I try to sync in CFW it tell me to update to last firmware and report my PSN Email )

I have found step 6 (rebuild database) necessary. After copying trophies you would see them in your profile, however if you transfer trophies by just copying you will receive and error anytime you load a game that uses the trophies! This happened to be personally as I was trying to back up trophies, reformat ps3, and restore trophies. If you go into recovery and rebuild database it fixes this problem!
RE "do not update until you know you have all of your trophies this is not tested on 4.11"
I said this as once you have upgraded to 4.11, I do no know if copying trophies will work (since I have no 4.11) so first copy trophies as I said above, and then update second.
