So I had an idea, since the new CFW doesn't have backup manager I was thinking that we could copy games as a .pkg onto the internal drive from a USB when we back it up to PC via FTP and than take it back with a USB but the .pkg will be signed and able to run which will make it look like a PSN game but it's actually a full game.
If no one got what I'm saying because I typed it wrong check out this thread.

It's a legit way to backup your games, just get the .pkg by sending it to your PC via media server, and than signing said game and copying it onto your PS3.Quote:

Or as I said in the other post. Make a hombrew app that rips from ps3 bluray right to xmb. That y u must have the disc to do it and no downloading copied games
Wouldn't work, but nice try. ^^ Can't use NTFS drives, and FAT32 has a 4gb limitation. Games wouldn't fit since it would be in one giant pkg file. Even if you got past that, I doubt it would work anyway. I'm pretty sure they NEED bluraydis eumlation, which requires jailbreak anyway.Quote:

It still wouldn't run. We don't have backup managers because we can't sign pkg correctly, we have them because they attach the game files to a bluray disc emulator. Just packing up a game and signing it wouldn't work. That's my guess anyway.Quote:

I've looked at a decrypted eboot.bin and I don't remember seeing anything resembling mount points. The only text strings where the libraries used in the game. So I still don't think that would be possible. Just because we can decrypt eboots doesn't mean we can alter them that easily. Right now, the unself tools aren't working properly so we couldn't unpack/repack eboots even if this method was possible.Quote:
