ok so this way is a dead end for me...
What about trying different the various MKB versions that exist?Aren't they like 20-30? Doesn't it mean that there are like 20-30 corresponding DRLs? It seems too easy to be true....
Um no, there could be thousands in each version of MKB multiply that by the amount of MKB's and you have well one for each Bluray ever made.
The DRL is unique to each movie (and can be changed if they re-release the same movie)
so the only thing left is your Q_A flag remarry..
If I want to to to official CFW afterwards will I loose playback of blu ray movies and games?
If you leave OtherOS++ for ANYTHING else, you will lose BD playback.
Games etc will still be fine.
I have experiments to do, but the details will not be published unless I can make them 100% lemming proof.
Essentially, 99.9% chance I will not release the info.
Ok so there's a 0,01 chance that you will release something better than nowadays available?
And also: I've decided to follow your guide, the only thing is that all the links with tools/firmweres are down ....
P.s: On otherOs ++ you don't have backups running(multiman), don't you?
Yep I still cant get my cecha01 to get bd movie playback....I just dont understand why....tell me how does the qa flag bd movie fix work?

It's just like Kmeaw, but in my opinion, better since you can do more
QAFlag, install Linux, add in other packages that will allow you to really mess with the PS3 internals.
I said it earlier, Kmeaw was released earlier and is why it is more common.
That and the fact people see "OtherOS" in the title and think it is purely for installing Linux.
Your a tech right, & from all your posts you have a deep understanding of how the PS3 works.
Maybe you should get more then 1 console to mess with for a start, say a 16meg version would be good.
This all works like a 16meg by removing the checks performed when a BD movie is played.
It does not "fix" the problem, just masks the bigger problem.
Sony should have their arses hauled into court by the rest of the BD counsel for this.
They have essentially broken the most fundamental rule regarding BD security (DRL/HRL matching)
If other companies figure out why this is like that, then they can make BD players that also bypass the check and still allow movies to be played, and played at high def over non compliant equipment.
Thanks, so why do you suppose its not working on my system after a dumb move of leaving the fw? Also I have three fats for testing and a slim the way, the one thats messed up is a non test unit, it is one im trying to fix for my personal self and not ment for testing....as I said I got 2 other ebay specials for testing and playing with. I dont know everything about PS3s. You assume just because Im a tech I know how to program and know the ps3 inside out. I work with intel computers and processors. I do mostly hardware and network installs. Most software I do is setting up a server08 system and virus removal. Maybe some main frame troubleshooting. Now this forum isnt made for someone to pick on someone for asking a question.....Now I understand what you say and I wont be making double post or telling people info I dont really understand, but please stop flaming me.

Its weird to me because it should work again once you return to the otheros cfw since its bypassing the checks.
