Hello forum, here is my problem. I dont play too much on my ps3. Lately i didnt use it for lets say 2 months now when i tried to turn it on nothing happened. I plugged it in and no red lights or anything it just died.
I obviously tried everything, starting from controller, from ps3, ejecting disk it doesnt do nothing. As warranty is over i opened it up and made the screwing 2 screws 10 degrees fix but it didnt work out . Its barely used and im very frustrated because when i opened it up it didnt even have dust! Its like a new ps3 which doesnt even turn on.
    Any clues ??
I tried to check for voltage but im not very good at electronics so i tried to mess around with the device and i cant find any voltage at all... (still that might be because i suck at this).
Well if you can help me out i would be glad to hear your opinion.

Maybe it's the power supply that's broken.
Try changeing the powersupply from the ps3 with a new one.

Thanks man. I was almost convinced it was the psu. I tried today with my dad who knows something about electronics and the input was ok, i mean the 220v (Argentina voltage) got through perfectly but on the other side, the output was null. So its definetly that. Ill get one and tell you if it worked later.
Thanks again for your time, very nice forum you all got here, ill be wondering around.

make sure to check the fuses in the psu and the rocker switch on the back of the unit if you have not already done so before placing an order for a new psu, after all replacing ether of those would be quite cheap and easy.

Hey guys it was the PSU ! thanks god everything else is fine, i bought one today and replaced it . Thanks for the help.
One question though , my last psu was the 270 , i now was given a 2000 i don't know really well the number but the voltage and the amperes were the same, that means no problem does it?
I mean the ps3 had worked all day long till now without any problems, finally i got to play mgs 3 again for the 3rd time. Great game and great HD collection kojima released last year.
    Thanks for all your help.
