PS3 Homebrew Development Getting Started Tutorial!

I hope this helps you guys out, I just put this together for you guys to help a lot of you who may not know how to get started with developing with PSL1GHT and creating your own homebrew applications on PS3 with GeoHot's new CFW for 3.55.

Leave any questions you need here, but please note, I will not teach you how to program code in C. Please, only questions retaining what I did in this video.

Woot, I think I'm going to like you lol. A tutorial poster. Not many of those on the forums. Good work ^^ I'll look at it tomorrow as it's 2:30 AM here XD I'm currently installing psl1ght to give it a go so I'll see if I can follow along with the tutorial. ^^

Yeah man, I love tutorials, I've always been big on helping people out. That's why I appreciate the help you gave me on my thread earlier, it's really nice to see caring people in a community like this, and I'm more than glad to give back to you guys. Hope you enjoy!

But i have a problem, done everything like in video (even used pngtest), i have only changed that picture (and renamed it to name.bin) also changed lines in main.c, after that made an pkg and copied on a USB and plug it into ps3, but when i want to install it gives me error 80029567. Could You tell me what am i doing wrong ? (Of course Ps3 is on GeoHot jb) :)

Update:

I definitely have a signing problem, unmodified jpgtest (only created pkg) also gave mi 80029567.

Ok got it :) didn't listen carefuly on tutorial, i was using the unpatched "sample" folder :)

Good tutorial. Someone's done video tutorials before :P Be careful with the zoom though. When you're changing the source for the png test, you can't see the line you're changing (not that big of a deal, but some newer developers might whine a little lol). I take it, looking through your other videos, that you're not new to the game development scene >.< So I'll be looking forward to learning from you future tutorials. Maybe you'll make a video(s) on developing a game engine with PSL1GHT ;) Anyway, thanks for being productive. There are a lot of talented people here that are on the noob-ish side of console programming that just need a push in the right direction.

Have you, or anyone, tried this library out? I'm having problems with rebug right now or I'd try it out. My PSL1GHT code keeps loading to a black screen and the PS3 becomes unresponsive >.< I might just flash back to OFW 3.41 : /

Yeah I am having the same issues with the unresponsive Ps3... I can load FEW samples okay like pngtest but it seems like the rest (in particular anthing with printf like spu and thread test) is busted... anyone know what the deal is?
