    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f178/ps1...14/#post656526 (PS1 PSN Title Question)

Made this post in the homebrew forums, question I have for devs is, how can I mount a folder I've created on dev_hdd0 and make the PS3 think it's currently in the optical drive?

My thinking was I could just extract all the files from a backup image of a PS1 game I own, copy those files to the HDD of the PS3, place a retail PS1 disc into the PS3, run one of the "backup managers" but instead of getting it to mount a folder containing a PS3 game, I ask it to mount my folder containing a PS1 game?

Should work in theory, yes? But how can I make the backup manager do this?

edit: Looks like Open Manager is open source, I guess I can look through there and see if I can figure out a way to get it to mount a folder of my choosing.

Weird. If I put a PS1 disc in the drive while jailbroken, it doesn't get read.

yeah that's a fairly well known issue.
I think the rebug firmware might fix it.
    Should look into that.

I just wish others were working on this, it's tough to even decide on the best plan of attack for a PS1 emulator... Should we attempt to look at ps1_emu.self? Should we try a "backup loader" trick of copying the entire contents of a PS1 game to a folder on the HDD, placing a retail disc in the drive, and then remounting the folder to the drive? Should we try to hot swap the EBOOT.PBP of a PSN PS1 title with a different EBOOT.PBP of a backup game we want to load? Or should we just get all our weight behind ps3sx?

    It's making me

There's already a ps1 emulator -.- try searching before posting. If you did, you'd find not only the ps1 emulator but ALSO my thread where I attempted to map a ps1 iso but failed.

    He didn't say there isn't a PS1 emulator.

I think best plan of action is editing of the PS1emu.self.
