I'd like to announce a project i've been working on, PS3P. Basically it's the ability to load PSP games on PS3.
As you may know, the PS3 can play PSP Minis, which are installed just like any other package. And most PSP games have nearly identical structures and files as PS3 games.
Thus far I've been able to achieve a few steps in the right direction, but I'm not ready to share my work just yet. I've been working on this in my free time (aka outside of work and family) and it will be done when it's done.
If you'd like to know more, or keep on the up and up, feel free to find me on Twitter.com/dimmudroid
I may need a few alpha testers soon, I'll post requirements and such later today.
Update #1
twitpic.com/2nln4q
Sadly, I can't post links just yet, only text links.
The right side is the file structure and SFO of Vempire (PSP Mini) on PSP, and the left side is the PS3 file structure and SFO.
Update #2
The files vary greatly, sort of. The USRDIR on the PS3 only has an eboot.pbp that is 9MB. Which when extracted has PSP files inside of it, including another SFO that has DIFFERENT data then the actual PSP version. Also inside that eboot.pbp is Data.PSAR file whick I'd imagine has the same data in it as the USRDIR once extracted. Pic link below.
Update #3
Anyone have a way to extract PSAR files on either PC or PSP? I see programs to do it, but they seem to only work on FW, not game files...
