It's my question... if yes, would be complicated?
sure, anything is possible, and yes it probably would be extremely complicated.
Short answer = NO!
Long answer = Possibly in the future, no one knows. It's not impossible but in the short term yes it is as no one is looking at that angle considering it's only purpose would be warez. This scene is predominately based on the homebrew anti piracy crowd for scene developers. So the chances that any of them will ever work on something that will only lead to another avenue for piracy, nope it will never happen. But when I say this I mean the current scene devs. If more come such as C4EVA then I say hell yes. But as it stands no, there will never be a ps3 firmware hack.
like i said theonly way it would be really usefull is if we ever got a dual boot cfw/ofw then you could flash the drive so you could play backup that require higher fw and play backups on psn and have psn access on the ofw boot and not have to update the other boots fw and loose homebrew if there is no cfw for the current cfw version and you want psn and to play backups
There are some guys on NGU working on this.
then you have to use blurays or dual layers to hold all the content of the good games and sony would probably just use a check to see if the bluray is flashed![]()
c4eva said he was going to look into it, BTW c4eva is involved in x360 dvd drive firmwares.
