I don't think you get how the development scene works. >.< Name a piece of homebrew we have that was requested to be made? I'm not talking about someone recompiling some source for a different platform, I'm talking about someone saying "they want this? Ok I'll look through the SDK for a couple hours deciding exactly what will need to be added into the project to make it work." Nothing. Backup manager came out. Someone said to themselves "this is ****ing ugly, I can make a better looking gui" and they did. Then 20 other people told themselves "I could do better" and we have 20 million backup managers now. Not one of them did it out of "request" sure they may have added a feature here or there, but that's because that project was THEIRS. When people look back at that project, the dev wants them to think "That's a complete project" not "What a half assed attempt, look this one is ten times better."
Get a grip on reality. Devs don't do requests.Since I started here 3 months ago, people have been yelling at people for requests. Look at the assholes in some of the old backup manager threads and how they were pressuring for this and that to be added or fixed.
This forum is for development. Not requests. If you want a more positive experience IN the development forums, do some research before you post.
Look up why we couldn't read burnt discs to begin with (aka what was the disc protection we couldn't bypass) or look at how backup managers work and ask if that method could be used to map discs as well (BDEMU maps paths to the game on a hard drive and actually emulates disc access). If you're not willing to be a part of the development process for your request, post somewhere else.
Totally agree with you.. 5 bucks these guys wanna burn games so that later they can sell them.. And to whoever is complaining about ps2 and hdloader, loading games from the hdd on the ps3 is way faster in every game I own than loading it from the original..

Can a burnt blu-ray be backed up to the HDD using a game mananger?
Reason is for the following scenario:
A) BD-R to be used for archive only, no direct play.
B) Already have a blu-ray burner.
C) BD-R can be had for under $1.00 each.
D) Don't want to waste valuable HDD space.
E) Don't have to worry about HDD crashing or accidentally deleting.
Basically, the burnt blu-rays would be used as archival back-ups and if anything should happen to the original you could at least copy it to the HDD and still be able to play it.
Unfortunately, I do not have a blu-ray burner so I can't test it out, but I can't see why this wouldn't work.

Reason: Reorganized list
I hope this idea never comes to see the light of the day. People are just going to sell pirated games. I bet two cents as at least one of these guys here hoping to burn BD games are from Brazil. To all the others, please, stop thinking like we live 10 years ago, there is no good reason (aside from selling) that would make someone rather burn game discs to play instead of playing them through the HDD (be it internal or external)
I don't think people would even buy aPs3 in Brazil
It's a question as any other questions..he has just posted it into the wrong place..
People had PS3's way before the official launch here (in Brazil), and people still buy PS3's even after the official launch, they just won't buy it from these specific stores. There are many other places where we can get the system for a "fair" price when compared to that.
