Can someone please tell me how the param_sfo enables games to be played on low firmwares than originally intended. For example LA Noire being played on 3_55CFW when it was designed for 3_60 (i think).
I understand that when opening the sfo file in a hexeditor, their is a byte or two that details the firmware version (among many other settings), and this can be edited to be played on 3_55 instead of 3_60 FW.
But if this is so, why hasn't Portal 2 or saints row the third been altered for this kind of use. Is there another file somewhere that can not be modded or is it slightly more in depth.
Thanks
It's not like that
L A Noire was for FW 3.60 BUT update 1.01 was playable on FW 3.55
and editing param SFo allows playing games on 3.55
if the game is encrypted with FW3.6--
and not the new 3.6x keys
hope this clears it up for ya
